You are correct. There is no direct law. The law is sort of backward: if a gun is used in a crime or accident the gun owner is charged with liability if the weapon was not stored correctly. (Assuming people have common sense, which obviously Bonnie and Clyde do not)
A law was attempted to be passed recently, this year. (proposed by a Democrat), but the Democrats knocked it down because it did not go as far as they wanted. (draconian)
A parent has to be with a child when he/she is discharging the weapon.
