Shatner referenced the climate change agenda in President Biden’s embattled $3.5 trillion spending bill, and warned that if we don’t do something about the industrial pollution we will not only be stripping the planet of its natural resources, we will be stripping it of the future.

Maybe Captain Kirk should head to China and India and tell them to stop polluting the earth.

“he has been filled with dread over climate change.”

No, he has had his head filled with dread by others ...

‘Destruction of the planet is suicide’

Brilliant. That's like saying shooting yourself in the head is suicide. IOW, it doesn't say ANTHING!

Wish he had kept his mouth shut.

If all the people who think CO2 is a problem would stop exhaling it, we could solve this overnight.

Another actor who thinks he’s a space genius because he read scripts on Star Trek.

Everyone who goes to space has an existential moment about the perceived fragility of the earth.

I don’t know if Shatner was a green nut before going to space.

But the only answers to climate change is real progress in efficiency and real useful technology like nuclear energy.

I don’t see a transition which can replace gas cars until some better engine is really obtainable. Get more rare earths foe batteries? That’s way too expensive

Maybe he should have kept going, and instead of returning to Earth, head off to Vulcan or other planets.

I wonder if Vulcan experiences global warming?

Shatner was a huge Hillary supporter - so while I like the guy, his opinions on many topics is irrelevant.

So he paid in kind for his “free” trip to space. Science has never been the old Canadian’s strong suit.

Shatner needs to lead by example—and zero out his carbon footprint.

True enough. But unfortunately, the liberals have decided that we shouldn’t use nuclear energy. So there’s that. Good luck trying to get new nuclear plants built nowadays.
