More Americans identify as evangelical after the Trump years

While many commentators have insisted that former President Trump has been radioactive for evangelical Christianity, pushing Americans away from the faith, recent data from the Pew Research Center suggests that more Americans adopted the evangelical label during the Trump years.

While 25% of White Americans identified themselves as born-again or evangelical Protestants in 2016, 29% of them described themselves that way in 2020, according to Pew. The survey found that 2% of White Americans who had identified as born again/evangelical Protestants in 2016 no longer did so in 2020, but 6% of White Americans who did not describe themselves as evangelical in 2016 had adopted that identity by 2020.

Big increases in “none” for religious affiliation is not stopping. Now 47 % (biggest in history) have given up.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/its-not-just-young-white-liberals-who-are-leaving-religion/

I predicted it as people prayed for help especially in early 2020. “Science vs. religion”, secular pressures of America today and attitude about prayer are involved. “Suffering” is one of the named factors.

Sad and upsetting trend.

As others including Rev. Billy Graham have said: God hears all our prayers and answers them but sometimes His answer is “no.”

Even as the world becomes more atheistic, I believe more people are coming to understand Biblical prophecy, therfore understanding moreso how the current events today are being aligned to coincide with prophecy.

Which opens the door for more to become true Christian believers of the Christian Born Again belief.

Liberals are aborting themselves off or not having kids to save the planet. Too bad conservative kids are being indoctrinated at a great rate in the public schools.

Believers won't win the battles, but He will win the war.

“While 25% of White Americans identified themselves as born-again or evangelical Protestants”

All Christian’s are born again. By definition.

All Christians are called on to evangelize too, by definition. It's in the bible, we're supposed to spread the Good News to others.

That being said, I certainly not describe myself as "Born Again" or "Evangelical".

Just as a protestant would not begin a prayer with the phrase "Hail Mary, Full of Grace...", despite those exact words being used to address her in the bible.

The question is: “Is Trump good for the Church?” “Are Christians required to support a second run for Trump?”

But those words are never used to pray to her.

That phrase was an angelic salutation to a human being,
not the first phrase of a human to be anyone else.

I’d say that not everyone who calls themselves a “Christian” is born-again or “ begotten from above”.

That’s wonderful news.

Personally I have had doubts about President Trump’s faith, on a personal level.

But there is no doubt that he supported them. As far as I know.
