Among the cache that New Year’s morning at a northern Wisconsin gun shop was a lightweight 9mm handgun with a black polymer grip, a black steel slide and a 4½ inch barrel.
On one side was the stamp of the handgun’s unique serial number: YZC020. On the other, the logo of one of the most profitable and ubiquitous firearms companies in the world: Glock.
The Austrian handgun, a model 17, had been imported to the company’s Smyrna, Georgia, plant and then shipped to the gun shop, where it was to be sold for as much as $400.
It took all of about 20 seconds for the handgun and eight others to slip from the secure display case of a federally licensed firearms dealer and into the underground gun market.

What about the lack of character of people in Chicago?
They're real, and they are out there.. searching for victims.
The article makes it sound like the gun shot people by itself.
And this gun was a mass murderer.
Nothing in the article about arresting the people responsible for the shootings.

But...but...They have strong gun laws in Chicago!
Yet these same people will turn around and try to use this to justify additional "gun control" laws. Hello, anyone home upstairs? This story opens up with a criminal act - that's what criminals do by definition, break laws. Enacting more laws will not deter someone who has already demonstrated a callous disregard for the law.
How about we focus on the law enforcement failures in Chicago - where apparently in 26 different criminal acts the perpetrator(s) were able to continue to use the same tools before only getting caught after the 27th.
How many of those 27 people low life’s?

There is no prove the gun was used in 27 shootings.
I carried a Glock 17 professionally. The serial number on mine was 9X19.
That’s a busy little black fella. I wonder how many docs can be linked to stitching him up to go out and shoot someone else.
Cmon man.... the criminal is the victim nowadays. Poor guy was taken advantage of by a gun.
And when they catch a perp using it, he’ll have 30 felony arrests. He’ll be on parole, the prosecutors will refuse to ask for bail and recommend he be released back into the community, again. And then the Mayor will say they need more gun control.
As it stands right now, there is no requirement for a gun thief to pass a background check. FedGov needs to pass a law requiring all thieves to pass a background check before they can steal a firearm.
No alarms, video cameras., No Nothing to stop criminals?
I wonder how they linked 27 shootings to this particular gun.
My suspicion is it has been done with regular police work, confessions, and plea deals.
In various 1970s TV shows it was a bought handgun that escaped the owner and went on a killing spree. This was brought on by the murder of Bobby Kennedy by a Palestinian Immigrant.

and about any crime show of the time.
Anti-gun propaganda was thick back then.
