Both, my son and daughter-in-law work in the nuclear industry and said they will definitely quit if forced to get the jab..
I work at Wal-Mart. Last week called into office to ask if we had our shot. My preferred answer was “prefer not to say”.
My direct manager now has covid and I am the only one he told. He got yelled at for telling me.
I asked a interim manager about his situation, as we were working together the nite before and she said she couldn’t discuss because of hippa.
Last years rules were you were sent home to get tested if you were seen on camera with person and to quarantine with pay for 10 days. Dont know new rules.
She stated that was about 4 rules ago. LOL.
We shall see what happens next.
The proposed rule was reported as either (1) get the jab or (2) be tested weekly. Employers are not going to like to pay to staff, administer, report weekly tests.
If just 5 - 10% of workers were forced in a short span of time to be laid off at my company, the impact would be devastating. Multiply this by the size of the US and we are looking at an economy pointing to depression.
Tell them NOT to quit! Make them fire you!!!!
I would recommend that they apply for an exemption (medical or religious).
My husband is in the same industry, 2 yrs from retirement, and we’re debating the same.
Nothing personal but, get back to me on that when they do quit.
