Something Is Wrong with the President
National Review ^ | August 19, 2021 | Jim Geraghty

On the menu today: The transcript of President Joe Biden’s interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos dropped, and the president’s incoherence, insistence that he was incorrectly briefed, denial that he was warned by his military advisers, and oddly low profile in the past week raise troubling questions about his ability to perform his duties.

What’s Going On with President Biden?

After making no public appearances for four days — during a major foreign crisis — President Biden read a 20-minute speech off a teleprompter on Monday afternoon and took no questions. He immediately returned to Camp David. He had no events on his schedule Tuesday. On Wednesday, he gave another 20-minute speech about vaccine boosters off a teleprompter from Camp David, and again took no questions. Also on Wednesday, the president sat for an on-camera interview with George Stephanopoulos that did not go well. According to the White House public records, Biden has had two phone conversations with foreign leaders in the past ten days — one with Boris Johnson and one with Angela Merkel.

As of this writing, Biden has no public events on his schedule for today. He is scheduled to receive the president’s daily briefing from the intelligence community and meet with his national-security team. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, he is scheduled to return to his house in Delaware today.

This is a highly unusual schedule for a president during a foreign-policy crisis. Yes, a president can perform his job anywhere, whether it’s Camp David or his own private residence. But Biden is barely appearing in public, not saying much of anything when he does, not answering any questions outside of his lone scheduled interview, and sounding angry when he did face questions from Stephanopoulos.

Biden began the interview by insisting that the intelligence community

My take on Biden according to the article written is that he doesn’t have a clue as to what’s going on until someone tells him. In other words, he’s not calling the shots- someone else is. And THAT’S scary if true. Suppose we get into a nuclear confrontation- who makes that decision?

I am beginning to be far more concerned with his volatile temper and him having accesss to “the football”!! Someone needs to stand at the ready to tackle this idiot and take his ability to destroy e world away from him, hell, offer him some pudding to give it all up!!

People know he is demented. What they don't observe, except those with him 24/7 are his delusions (believing something that is untrue and can be proven untrue to a rational person.) or his hallucinations, (like seeing there are a bunch of wild deer grazing on the white house lawn).

In the long run those types of delusions and hallucinations will leak out.

His caretakers have to get Biden out of there before he goes farther downhill and believes, based on imagined recent intelligence we are going to be attacked by China, and must strike first to reduce our casualties. Get me that nuclear football NOW! -Tom

The National Review is usually an elitist group of smarter-than-thou writers. The fact that even they are willing to write this is telling.

I can attest to this. My FIL has dementia and at this point he is pretty laid back, but there was a time not even a year ago when he was still cognizant enough to *think* he could function normally but the reality was he was not able make good decisions at all. He had these exact kinds of outbursts Biden has and even in the outburst he often didn’t make sense nor could he formulate an argument. He blamed everyone for things missing, when he was misplacing them, was making a mess out of finances and taxes and arguing he was doing a good job, would get lost and argue he was not lost... Many of Biden’s behaviors remind me of that - I do not believe he is the one making the decisions but his defensiveness is so dementia-like. Just my .02

The clearest proof that 2020 was a fraudulent election is Joe Biden himself

He shuffled into the room with a big Black mask, but HE FORGOT to put it on when he hastily left the room. So, either Covid is only a danger when you enter, and not exit a room. Or his brain is so fried he can't even remember his show mask.

I did read it and my reaction. This is what the folks at NRO voted for, save V D Hanson. Why are they complaining?

Interesting, did not know that, thank you. the Catholic church did not like him or Luther, both were an affront to their power monopoly.

Yet, they still will not use the "A" word, as the Aussies regularly do.

Joe Biden's resignation may be imminent. The flight plan NOTAM is posted, he really is going to Delaware after coming back from his Camp David vacation earlier this week. This is not something a sitting president whose popularity is already in free fall can do if he wants to stay in office.

Then the media will turn on him

No, I think the media will go all compassionate on him. Bravely continuing with best interests of the USA at the forefront of his mind, but sadly failing now under the stress of the world's toughest job.

Having 1st had knowledge of Dementia/Alzheimer’s I recognize the symptoms, Biden will only get worse, much worse.

He’s declining fast.

How long is going to be kept in as Placeholder of a President?

Keeping him in office is a crime, elder abuse against him, and a crime against America for helping him to destroy our once not so long ago great country.

Slo Joe Must Go!

You made me read a whole article from the National Fishwrap. I'm sure you're a nice person, otherwise.

Is the writer related to Christopher Columbus? He seems to have discovered America, again.

And then the media will ask who knew what and when did they know it, as if it was a big secret coverup by someone other than themselves...
