Agreed. Our “live and let live” attitude has empowered them to return the sentiment with “now you shall be forced to agree”.
I doubt this would even be a discussion if gay marriage hadn’t been legalized. It was the trigger for “we won”. The claim that “it will never affect you, so why do you care?” was a complete lie.
Now you must “bake the cake” and “teach it to the kids”, otherwise we’ll destroy you, either your livelihood, with fines, or imprisonment - enforced by the State at the end of a gun.
The first official “Gay Rights Platform” of demands in 1972 laid out the whole thing. If people had paid attention then, things might have been different. But they wormed they way into foundations, HR divisions, education, government and of course “entertainment” and media.
