Derek Chauvin Did Not Murder George Floyd
American Thinker.com ^ | June 25, 2021 | John Dale Dunn, MD, JD

Posted on 06/25/2021 2:47:22 AM PDT by Kaslin

George Floyd’s death one year ago caused a national level of rioting and vandalism and even deaths. It also put something called “excited delirium” in the spotlight. George Parry at The American Spectator, Andrea Widburg at American Thinker, and Jack Cashill (at both venues) all have written insightfully about the political, scientific, and legal issues related to the death of Mr. Floyd and the prosecution of Officer Chauvin. The bottom line, if one seriously considers the medical evidence, is that Derek Chauvin did not murder George Floyd.

I have done a video demonstration with two male subjects that shows that there is no way that Officer Chauvin killed Mr. Floyd with the same prone restraint seen in the video of Mr. Floyd’s restraint and death. My analysis of the events is that the combination of drugs, excitement, exertion, and a bad heart caused Mr. Floyd to die from cardiac arrest -- just like a man who dies shoveling snow.

Recently, the American Medical Association (AMA) house of delegates and the American Psychiatric Association publicly condemned using the diagnosis Excited Delirium in cases like that of George Floyd, and also condemned using sedation and psych drugs on agitated and delirious individuals in emergency situations. These pronouncements were cheap shots that played to a woke racialist mob and ignored both medical science and the truth. That’s no surprise, though, because the AMA Board of Trustees, in June 2020, declared their support for critical race theory, equity, and anti-police campaigns.

Delirium has been around a long time as a phenomenon with many names. Delirium is a severe loss of normal ordered thinking and emotions, i.e., psychotic break. The excited or agitated form is more noticeable and harmful because sufferers are violent, dangerous, and self-injuring to the point of suicide. .

Agreed. I do not believe officer Chauvin was the proximate cause of Floyd’s death as a matter of clear fact.

Chauvin had a right to exercise the retstraint according to training and departmental policy. Floyd actually caused his own death through delirium.

Much of Floyds physical data and blood work was purposefully obscured.

This was a hopping kangaroo trial if there evre was one.

Hopefully Chauvin will win an appeal.

Chauvin is a bad cop. He didn’t need to keep his knee on him.

Chauvin was railroaded by a kangaroo court, pure and simple.

“Dr. Baker caved under pressure from the mob, the political situation, and prosecutors.”

The mob decided the verdict and will decide the sentence. Saint George must be avenged.

He was guilty, and weirdly a lot more FReepers seemed to think so back in May and early June of 2020. I feel a lot of the Chauvin support here is kneejerk “be the opposite of the Left and BLM,” which, yeah, screw them, but Chauvin should absolutely have not done what he did.

This is where America is right now.

He hasn't even been sentenced yet, that is today:

"On Friday, June 25 Judge Peter Cahill, who has served on the bench in Hennepin County for 14 years, could sentence Derek Chauvin to as little as probation or more than 30 years in the murder of George Floyd."

I agree absolutely.

No matter what happens, we're likely back to rioting.

Chauvin is being persecuted, not prosecuted. Chauvin did everything buy the book. He is not a bad cop.

Couldn't being prone on the pavement with someone kneeling on your neck cause the excitement and exertion that he says killed him?

George Floyd has proven once again that living a life of crime is a risky business. One lives longer when they they are a good citizen.

Drugs killed him. He was over dosing. But there was no way that cop was going to walk. The nation was burning before the trial. If they would have convicted him of anything less than what he was then America would still be seeing riots nightly. Oh wait we are still. Let’s say it would be worse perhaps.
