Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) pushed for more federal gun control Tuesday as Chicago gun violence surges and firearm-related homicides continue to increase.
Breitbart News reported eight people were shot inside a residence Tuesday, leaving four dead and four wounded while 43 people were shot over the weekend in Chicago and 55 were shot the previous weekend in the city.

New Englanders tend to say very little and spend time in the woods with axes, shovels, and other implements of horror. They are blunt, direct, and mean what they say. At least the long time residents that is.
Mayor Lightfoot said that people in her city were “forced” to commit criminal acts in order to survive. She doesn’t want to deprive them of the use of illegally owned firearms to survive. She wants to rid the city of legally owned firearms to make it easier for them to survive.

Maybe I'm a cynic, but the Cook County State's Attorney, Kim "Crimesha" Fox and the Dem Cook County judges are primarily responsible for allowing criminals back on the streets even after repeated arrests for gun offenses. They are allies of Lightbrain's political opponent, Crook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.
So maybe this crisis is engineered to bolster Preckwinkle's "progressive" bone fides while causing Lightfoot as much trouble as possible.
She hasn’t figured out yet that they have too many jails and prisons and climate change. These are the root causes of all societies’ ills.
More laws but fewer police? Does she ever have a genuine thought?
