BERLIN (AP) — The Biden administration will impose sanctions on a number of Russian ships and companies for their role in the construction of a controversial European pipeline project but will waive similar penalties on a German firm and its chief executive, according to congressional aides and the German government, which welcomed the move.

It’s inappropriate for the government to sanction any country or business due to mere business deals. If they are selling missiles fine. If they are selling spyware like Huawei, fine.

But this is like declaring war because Brazil decides to sell soybeans to China. Anyway, the whole purpose of this pipeline is for Russia to be able to deliver gas directly to Germans and Europeans without Ukraine getting their sticky fingers on it. Biden must be getting paid more by Merkel than by the Ukies.

It’s just about who buys who.

It really is just a cabal of corrupt, narcissistic perverts that are making money off of deals.

For the Germans the pipeline is now a big deal. Has been ever since their treasonous chancellor Schroeder ram rodded them into being dependent on Russian gas about 12 or so years ago. Of course our guys are part of other kickback schemes (not saying we’re any better), but making sure the Germans are taken care of will ensure they will play along and it doesn’t cause tension between us.

Right and wrong today simply boils down to who gets to be on the take.

There is no right or wrong anymore, just like their is no treason... We are in a global world and it’s all just about interests and how you define/frame things in an argument.

Ironically, while our new administration is taking actions against the Russians, they are very quiet and slow when it comes to China. In fact, they say nothing when US based media is attacked there (Epoch having journalists getting beaten, the printing facility broken into and smashed up). They don’t discuss the treatment of Christians (oppression) or Muslim minorities (genocide or the Uyghers), Covid and how that was dealt with, China’s aggressive intel collection, China’s actions regards Taiwan...

Why? Well of course because the US has huge business deals with China and may it be Chinese firms in the US, US firms selling in China, lobbyists on behalf of China, or US big tech manufacturing everything there, we don’t want to disrupt that do we? Russia is the political punching bag we publicly face off with in big media spectacles, while China plunges a knife into our back.

I think they already lifted the Russian sanctions. Merkel is the boss here...not Biden.

iirc the notion of discouraging the russia-germany pipeline was to prevent germany from excessive dependence on russian oil and vulnerability to russian threats of a pipeline shutoff. if so, biden (eg al) is merely signaling the end of implementing that notion via sanctions.

Absolutely, so Biden isn’t content with depriving Americans of affordable energy, he wants the whole world to suffer. Somewhere in there a Democrat must be making money from this move.

Curious how Biden killed the Keystone pipeline, then “Russian hackers” shut down the Colonial pipeline until it hurt and then Biden caves and removes President Trump’s sanctions on the Russian pipeline to Germany.

Did he have a choice? Imagine the photos and video “they” have of Humper Biden and maybe of him, too? Hmmmm ... yikes.

We are told that Biden is tough on Putin and Putin owned President Trump, yet it was President Trump who restored America as the world’s major energy exporter, directly hurting Putin and Russian oil exports.

Their logic is similar to the logic used when obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for having achieved no accomplishments whatsoever when they gave him the prize.

I wonder what the world really looks like behind the facade and the stories they repeat until they are “truth”.

How much more will it take for people to start becoming skeptical and curious enough to overcome their programming and peak behind the curtain to see how the trick being played on us is done?
