Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the death of a Hamas commander is "just the beginning" of attacks against the militant group, as the conflict between the two groups continues to escalate.
Netanyahu said, "We'll hit them like they've never dreamed possible," Reuters reported.
Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 56 people - including 14 children and several Hamas members - in Gaza since the violence began, the Palestinian Ministry of Health told Ragip Soylu, the Turkey correspondent for the Middle East Eye.
At least 6 Israelis have been killed by Hamas rocket fire, Reuters reported.

Looking at the size and speed of last night’s air raid on the Hamas tunnel system (hundreds of targets in under an hour), it was obviously a pre-planned operation.
They would have to be quite thoughtless to plan such an operation, without considering how to prepare and time it, in order to catch critical Hamas personnel in those tunnels when they dropped them.
The reports of a ground invasion (and troop movements) may have been a feint, to trigger them into mustering underground, to be hit.
