I think herd immunity has likely been reached. Months ago.
3rd immunity is just a speculated concept. There is no test away to determine if there is such a thing.

Well if the people who were always wrong believe it, I guess I’ll dismiss it.
We’ve reached herd immunity in many parts of the country already. The John Hopkins physician who wrote predicting it for April in the WSJ is looking good.
Timing is almost perfect with the Operation Warp Speed rollout.

Yes we WILL reach herd immunity for Wuhan Flu.
New “variants”, if they spread, are NOT “Wuhan Flu” (by definition) and also our immune systems are far more robust than these genetic tags our vaccines go after.
I have faith in God over man at this point and don’t even get me started on revisiting this as a bioweapon if it “eludes” our immune systems.

This is utter bulls—t. Without getting into the efficacy of the vaccines, let’s just consider the unvaccinated population. At some point, the overwhelming majority will be exposed to the virus and develop natural immunity. The idea that such natural immunity will offer no protection against alleged variants is nonsense. That’s not how the immune system works. The immune system can recognize a virus by a couple dozen or more features on its surface. The idea that these variants are so radically evolving that they have so little in common with their predecessors that the immune system will be helpless against them has no basis in fact or logic.
Let be fair: certainly maladies like polio HAVE been eradicated by vaccines. We can probably put rabies (yes...I know...animals...work with me) and tetanus on that list as well. These are net benefits to society, and a great example of eradication policy making good on its promise.
But let's be honest as well: if COVID19 is akin to influenza insofar as it mutates, abates then returns, afflicts the weak and those with comorbidities, AND (here's the big one) is tamed - but not cured - by immunizations (influenza vaccines recently were maybe 50% effective), then an honest discussion should emanate.
Or, being blunt, this bug isn't polio and the vaccine - perhaps helpful as a management tool - won't render people immune for life. Promising eradication via vaccination is like promising the end to world hunger...

Agree, with all, except the ‘and the vaccine - perhaps helpful as a management tool’ part, as it relates to china virus.
We simply do not know the total efficacy, nor the long term safety, of these expiremental shots.
