Biden’s Climate Plan Limits Americans to 4lbs of Beef Per Year, Would Kill Montana Economy
Montana Daily Gazette ^ | 04/24/2021 | Staff

Biden’s new climate plan will strip Montana of a vital industry and bankrupt our ranches

Senator Jon Tester (D) wears his agricultural credentials on his sleeve, eagerly relaying to Montana’s farmers and ranchers each campaign how much he supports ag producers, considering he is one. Tester’s family runs an organic farm near Big Sandy, where he pops in to take campaign photos every half-decade or so. But with Biden’s new climate orders in place, the days of Montana’s cattle ranchers being able to conscientiously vote Democrat may soon be over.

Montana’s farming and ranching industry accounts for more than 3.6 billion dollars in revenue each year, and is the second-largest segment of our economy, just behind tourism. While ranchers only make up 5% of the state’s population, they create 17% of the state’s economy. These jobs employ more than 52 thousand people in Montana, or roughly 10% of the workforce.

However, in the name of saving the planet, Joe Biden wants to end 90% of America’s beef consumption and 50% of all meat consumption, over-all...

Comparatively, goats are more labor intensive producing less meat, with higher acreage and labor demands, and more of an impact on the environment than a single beef yearling.

Average cost of a meat goat on the hoof is $1-$2/lb. The goat yields about 1/4 to 1/3rd its weight in meat, so a 100lb goat, purchased for $200, would ideally yield about 33 lbs of meat, or $6/lb (plus slaughter fee). A 30lb goat ($60) grown to 100lbs would cost about 1/2 to 2/3rds of that, once keeping costs and labor are added. To reach a goal of 193lbs of only-source meat per person annually, 21 goats would be needed to feed 3 persons.

On the other hand, a 500-lb meat calf will run about $800. A yearling grown to 1,200lbs slaughter weight yields about 60% meat, or about 700-750 lbs hanging weight and 600-650lbs cut weight, for an average cost of $4.10/lb cooked on the table. About 1/3 of the cut weight is high-end cuts. To achieve a goal of 193lbs of meat per person, one 1,200 yearling will support 3 people for one year.

If chicken and fish are plentiful, the US average of 50lbs of beef per person per year would mean multiple years of food obtained from raising one meat steer one year. One yearling can feed 3 people for 4 years. Whereas, 4 years of goat meat for 3 people at an average of 50lbs of goat per year, would require 24 - 30 meat goats.

According to a U of VA study several years ago of over 100 goat meat products in local specialty markets, the level of pathogens and microbes were high, due to lax regulations on the raising and the butchering of goat meat. If you truely want healthy goat meat that you haven’t raised yourself, you’re better off buying or trading for goat meat directly with a neighbor farmer whose barn and slaughter practices you are familiar with. And then practice good housekeeping when processing the meat to your freezer.

All in all, beef cows are more efficient producers of high-quality meat than goats, require less labor and less land, and are more ecologically sound in that the entire body can be recycled, from hide to skull. People badmouthing such a nutrient rich and affordable meat source are idiots.

The increase in the beef ration prompted spontaneous demonstrations of gratitude to Big Brother for the over fulfillment of the ninth Four Year Plan.

And there you are at post 81. The first person on a long thread of comments to point out that there is NO PROPOSAL of ANY KIND to limit anyone’s consumption of meat. Biden has not proposed anything like this. Congress has not. This entire story is a lie made up first by the Daily Mail of all ridiculous sources, and then promulgated for a full weekend on Fox.

It’s all just a complete lie.

True! There was, though, mention of curtailing beef production in the Green New Deal as first published by AOC, and iirc she took that down after being ridiculed over cow flatulence. So the concept has some resonance.

“You doubt this is their ultimate plan?”

I doubted those who said Trump was going to win by such a large margin that there was no way the Dems could steal the election. I doubted the televangelists who said God told them that Trump was going to win. I doubted the likes of Q, Sidney Powell and Lin Wood. I was attacked for expressing doubts. I prefer to base my life on facts.

Wishful thinking there again, eh Sobieski?

Everyone has known for a long time now, all about your "secret" proclivities, and how you're always on the prowl, searching for trannies to spend intimate moments with, when you're not looking for romantic cows.   You would raise a big stink if Biden limited you to just four trannies a year.
