STANFORD STUDY SAYS MASKS ARE ‘INEFFECTIVE’, HAVE ‘DEVASTATING HEALTH CONSEQUENCES’

A group of Stanford researchers published a study that says masks are ineffective and could have long-term health consequences.

“Although, scientific evidence supporting facemasks’ efficacy is lacking, adverse physiological, psychological and health effects are established,” the article states.

In January, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention performed a study and concluded that universal masking is recommended to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The CDC concluded that cloth masks and medical procedure masks substantially reduce exposure from infected wearers and reduce exposure of uninfected wearers — the CDC’s study states that mask mandates were in place in 38 states and DC at the time of publication.

But Stanford researchers disagree and say not only are masks ineffective, but could also be causing long-term health problems.

“Both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to reduce human-to-human transmission and infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19,” the article details. “Wearing facemasks has adverse physiological and psychological effects … [and] long-term consequences of wearing facemasks on health are detrimental.”

The group’s research suggests that the long-term practice of wearing facemasks has the “strong potential for devastating health consequences,” and states that masks should be “avoided from use.”

The Stanford group also cites the possible impact COVID-19 has on mental health.

“With respect to mental health, global estimates showing that COVID- 19 will cause a catastrophe due to collateral psychological damage such as quarantine, lockdowns, unemployment, economic collapse, social isolation, violence and suicides,” the article reads. “Chronic stress along with hypoxic and hypercapnic conditions knocks the body out of balance … This state suppressing the immune system to protect the body from viruses and bacteria, decreasing cognitive function, promoting the developing and exacerbating the major health issues …”

The study concludes that existing scientific evidence challenges the safety and efficacy of wearing facemask as preventive intervention for COVID-19.

Actually, a study that breaks with all the traditional knowledge and understanding and that is ultimately proven to be correct is how you win a Nobel prize. Einstein didn’t become famous for saying Newton got it right. He became famous for saying Newton was wrong and being correct.

This must be why all the doctors, nurses, surgeons, dentists, lab workers, contractors, painters, dental hygienists, carpenters, nail salon workers, and all the others who wear masks for work all day every day for decades on end drop dead all the time.

Wait, they don’t? They’re fine after decades of mask wearing? Oh...

Don’t confuse the science deniers with actual facts...they have the word of a glorified gym teacher from some obscure Portugal college that says differently....lol.

You are comparing a glorified gym teacher from Portugal with Albert Einstein?

"After spending five hours wearing a mask as a guest of Our Favorite Airline last Friday, my sinuses are still in rough shape today. There is no doubt they lead to bacterial infection - even Fauci said so before it became profitable to switch his opinion."

I just got back from a flight w/ a lay over > 4 hrs in the air. The airlines are N@zee's about this **it, the last one famous for only flying 737's and having you line up to get in has a thing where to get a beverage you give them the number of the drink you want. I really wanted to give them an alternative for #3...

With that said, I have spent sometime in the inventor space. I have an idea for an air pre-cleaner, before you breath in. It would take batteries, and a ton of testing to make sure what I am doing wouldn't harm you (without giving it away) I can't even imagine showing up wearing it because it isn;t a "mask" and that it is a prototype, and it is better than a mask.

I'd be on the 7pm news in handcuffs hauled off the plane by the Teeezzsaye, and band from flying for life. I am darn sure it would work. I don't even want to put a dime into the concept with this enviroment of lawyers, FDA etc etc. It will sit in my mind and they can kiss my @$$ as mankind misses out...

Not at all; that’s why I included the “and being correct” part. Lots of people make crazy claims. It’s the ones making crazy claims that are demonstrated to be accurate to reality that win Nobel prizes and become famous.

This Portuguese gym teacher is not likely to be winning any prizes. Maybe a Darwin award.

I hate the GD masks. I have had mild asthma that I pretty much ignored most of my adult life because the medicine makes me jumpy. The masks have me coughing and wheezing like crazy for an hour after I take them off. I laugh when I see people driving alone in their cars with masks. BUT... We much show our fealty to fauci the magnificent.

well, if the glorified gym teacher is such a dunderhead, let’s hear your argument for continuing mask mandates...

‘Wait, they don’t? They’re fine after decades of mask wearing? Oh...’

love your mask, do you...? then by all means wear it all day long, wear it in the shower, wear it to bed...go for it, if you think it’s right for you...

myself, I hate the masks, I hate the maniacal authoritarianism that requires that I participate in someone else’s paranoia of catching what amounts to a highly survivable health event...I agree that the author’s characterization of the mask dangers are overstated, but I applaud him for overstepping the taboo against covid orthodoxy skepticism...

None of these people wear masks "all day every day." In fact, they wear them only as required by the specific type of work they're doing and then almost always just for short time periods.

"love your mask, do you...?"

No, I'll be perfectly happy when no stores are asking me to wear a mask any longer. I've been fully vaccinated for months. But that's entirely different than buying into nonsense fear porn about masks being dangerous. That's absurd. We have decades of evidence from tens of millions of people showing that it's absurd.

"I agree that the author’s characterization of the mask dangers are overstated, but I applaud him for overstepping the taboo against covid orthodoxy skepticism..."

Skepticism about whether masks reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission is fine. There's a lot of evidence to say that it does reduce the risk, but there is always the possibility that it doesn't and if someone has actual evidence to suggest masks don't reduce risk while indoors in public places, then by all means it should be shared.

But spreading nonsense fear porn that directly contradicts observable reality vis-a-vis masks being dangerous doesn't help anyone. It just adds more fear to the mix. Plenty of that out there already.
