Having raised 2 feral kids that we adopted out of foster care the conversation goes like this:
Me: can’t you put them in home somewhere to be evaluated.
Psychiatrist, and behavioral counselor: Have the hurt themselves or any one else?
Me: no but their psychotic!
Psychiatrist, and behavioral counselor: we can’t do anything until they hurt themselves or someone else...
Me: okay but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Would you recommend people do the foster care / adoption thing now that you lived it? My wife has brought up foster care but I keep telling her the cost to conform with the state’s requirements would be prohibitive. Pool, guns, land, ....
