UAE official says US in driver's seat for stronger Iran deal
Jerusalem Post ^ | 04/15/2021 | Staff

President Joe Biden's negotiators should use leverage gained against Iran by the previous U.S. administration to reach a better nuclear deal with Tehran in talks in Vienna, the United Arab Emirates' ambassador to Washington said.

The UAE and Saudi Arabia had supported former President Donald Trump's decision in 2018 to quit the 2015 accord between Iran and world powers and reimpose harsh sanctions on their foe.

You [US] are essentially in the driver's seat to get to a point to where we can address what I believe were shortcomings in JCPOA," envoy Yousef Al Otaiba said in a virtual discussion with Stanford University's Hoover Institution on Wednesday, using an acronym for the deal. He listed the shortcomings as the deal's duration, that it did not address Iran's missiles program and support for regional proxies and that it still allowed uranium enrichment.

The Arab countries that were smart enough...and brave enough...to sign on to President Trump's peace deal with Israel surely feel that they made a big mistake right now. They know that Feels Up/Heels Up actually want Iran to have a nuke.

I don't believe that to be the case. The Arab nations threatened by Iran need a strong partner to counter the dangerous ambitions of the mullahs. Since the US can no longer be trusted, Israel is the most logical choice for a strong regional alliance.

Iran is a mortal threat to them. Israel may be the only power with the will and the power to stop Iran. I look for more Arab countries to sign up with Israel.

Israel is surely willing to put a stop to Iran...but are they capable of doing so? My guess is that short of using nukes themselves they’re not.

You have to have a mind to use a Jedi mind trick.

I really hope that the leadership in these countries are smart enough to know that it’s time to prepare for the worst and not even worry about hoping for the best, for the best was ushered out by the cabal in January.

And I really hope that Israel knows that it’s on its own and that all the countries that have signed on to the Abraham Accords know that they will soon be in a state of chaos, violence and civil war to overthrow their respective government leadership so they can pull out of the accords.

Aren’t those the same talks that the Iranians said they have no intention of talking to the Harris/CornPop administration?

The UAE and Saudi Arabia had supported former President Donald Trump's decision in 2018 to quit the 2015 accord between Iran and world powers and reimpose harsh sanctions on their foe.
And now Biden is the Resident-in-Chief, and one of his early moves was to pull more missiles out. Israel's response to Iran and its quislings in the current White House has been to keep on destroying Iran's nuclear program.
Another consequence of this struggle will be the continued implosion of the EU, a long-term goal of Vlad the Imploder.

Well, they have sure significantly slowed down Iran's nuclear program several times without a single plane or man being committed.

I suspect Israel has capabilities they have not disclosed.

“UAE is trying to use the Jedi mind trick on Biden to stop him from giving Iran another 200 Billion for their nuclear program”

Not going to work. First off, Biden doesn’t have a mind. Secondly, Biden isn’t calling the shots.

The US is weak, Iran can sense it, feel it, taste it.

“I suspect Israel has capabilities they have not disclosed.”

Problem is, if Israel uses advanced capabilities to neuter Iran’s nuclear program, the American communists will withdraw military support for Israel.

But PotatoHead's SecDef Lloyd Austin just stated that our support for Israel was "ironclad." You mean, you don't believe him? ((just kidding))

Iran is a mortal threat to the Sunni gulf states. They're not worried about US sensibilities. And I doubt they consider the US a reliable ally. Events in Taiwan and the Ukraine may settle that question. But in any case they know to prevent a nuclear Iran will likely require military action. And they know, at least politically, the US under Biden will be on Iran's side.

That said, is the US in a position to follow up on Trump's policies, in theory yes.
