Gov. Ivey to lift Alabama mask requirement, COVID-19 health orders

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey

-----------------------------------------------------------------

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WBMA) — Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced Wednesday she would rescind the statewide mask order -- which has been in place since July 2020 -- and transition her COVID-19 health orders to recommendations citing improving COVID-19 data across Alabama.

The announcement means there will be no statewide enforcement of COVID-19 protocols for the first time since the state's response to the pandemic began in the spring of 2020.

Ivey's 'Safer Apart' order makes a list of recommendations for businesses, schools and organizations on how to operate safely during the pandemic but now stops short of enforcement. The decision leaves Alabamians to govern themselves highlighting Ivey's calls throughout the pandemic for personal responsibility.

Local governments have been more cautious. Birmingham, Montgomery and Gadsden passed city-wide mask ordinances to replace the expiring statewide health order.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

All three led by democrat mayors.

This then leaves only Louisiana as a (scared shirtless) blue-state holdout across the FL-GA-AL-TX region.

We call it plantation southern. 😉 Boy that’ll get you in trouble these days.

I’m not a MeeMaw fan by any means. Just glad this nightmare is ending. I haven’t missed a day of work or worn a mask yet. (I did wear a shield to vote.) When you see folks alone in their vehicles wearing two masks or individuals walking in a park with a mask, you have to ask yourself if anyone is playing with a full deck.

I shop every day and kept a mental list of the businesses who didn’t allow me in without a mask. I’ll never darken their doors again.

Doesn’t much matter. Folks around here in Jacksonville do not wear them anyway. Even at WallyWorld people have stopped. I have seen people in stores that have a sign on the door, Walgreens, saying mask required, but people waltz right in and don’t have them on. Most places people ignore them. I had one mask Nazi over in Bham kept telling me to pull my mask up over my nose while I was checking out, World Market it was, and I had over $100 in stuff, and I asked her did she have her debit card with her and she looked at me and I told her fat @$$, you just pay for this crap because I don’t want it and walked out. It was half rung up and we just blew her off and left the stuff right there on the counter. World Market is off my lists to shop in now, but at least we got the last say!!

It seems most Americans, literally “most” Americans in the USA do not understand the masks are doing nothing for people in general and in particular to protect anyone from anything.

Please read the European literature from Denmark, Italy and others. Please read beyond our liberal “scientific” resources available generally in the USA.

Please, know there is no virus so large it will plug up up a hole of any sort in a mask and find out what wearing that stupid mask does to diminish the O2 necessary for our lungs to feed to our body.

Read as much as you can from all over the world...and read what will and won’t work for anything of this “pandemic”.

I am assuming most people know by now that this virus we are so fearful of kills fewer people annually than our “normal flu” and that this virus unlike the flu virus actually shows up in our poop. Then find out why the statistics on this virus have been so distorted.

It is all a revelation!

God forgive me, I hate them bastards. They are turning Alabama into a “Blue” state. Almost makes me regret moving here.

I’m in rural Central AL, and lots of folks around here are like me: we don’t wear them to church or stores. I had to go into the plant today (work at home most of the time), and the thing liked to stifled me. I hate em, and they’re completely unnecessary.

I know I’m simply stating the obvious here, but it doesn’t seem to matter what state you live in; the split isn’t Republican vs. Democrat, it’s rural vs. urban.

The cities are typically occupied and run by corrupt leftist morons, the out-state areas by normal Americans.

Unfortunately, in most, if not all cases, the population centers and their voters set policy for the entire state.

Please do not regret it!

The mindless voters are invading EVERYWHERE.

Still, Alabama will not go blue.

Fortunately, Alabama is rural with only a few big cities.

Big cities are usually black and democrat.
