Meat In or Meat Out? Several rural Colorado communities reject Gov. Polis’ proclamation

WELD COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Saturday marks Colorado’s first ever “Meat Out Day”, a proclamation ushered in by Gov. Jared Polis to encourage people to explore the benefits of plant-based diets. But not everyone is happy about the concept. An estimated two dozen rural counties are rejecting the proclamation, celebrating “Meat In Day” instead.

Weld Co. commissioners say they feel like the governor’s proclamation is an insult to Colorado’s ranchers and farmers, noting that Weld Co. brings in about $2 billion in agricultural revenue each year. Commissioners estimate that 85% of the county’s agricultural revenue comes largely from livestock and poultry sales.

“We do hundreds of these proclamations. We’d love to have Colorado beef appreciation day,” shared Polis when asked about the the proclamation during a Covid-19 update last month. “One of my quarantine hobbies was learning to really develop techniques around cooking some of the underappreciated cuts, including flanks and round steak. I would put my brisket against anybody’s brisket in the state.”

Weld Co. officials say about 50 “Meat In Day” events are planned around the county on Saturday.

Now it’s cute and informal...but DO NOT THINK it will not become law, probably sooner than later. Our new masters told us this were coming if they got power, but we were too busy driving the RINOs (from Georgia) out of the Senate to listen. Now we might as well get used to eating what they FORCE US to eat, as they have the power to do just that.

In my case it’s quite often both. Meat in, meat out. Thank you, Metamucil!

The cattle industry should sue him personally for trying to destroy their livelihood. Better yet, feed him to the coyotes. POS.

“States that have a history of ranching, hunting, fishing and the outdoors have clowns like Polis as Governors. Talk to real ‘Coloradoans’ and you’ll learn very quickly that it isn’t about skiing and snowboarding. That’s for all the transplants.

Coloradoans are all about the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Shame 2 or 3 cities in that state have destroyed it. Like so many others.”

Your best chance at ending bullying is to punch the bully in the nose roght out of the gate at the first instance of bullying.

If the Colorado Ranchers really want to STOP this crap cold so it NEVER happens again, they need to get somewhat organized and STOP ALL GOVERNMENT SALES IN COLORADO. Let the Government Cafeterias and Prison eat PLANTS!!

Meat Out Day is March 20th? Okay, I will start the day with BACON, then lunch will be leftover roast chicken, dinner will be steak on the grill. Snacks during the day will be beef jerky. Good, got it covered.

Is there a Food Disparagement Law in Colorado?
How’d that work when Texas Cattlemen sued Oprah Winfrey for defamation? Cattle were deemed not sufficiently “perishable,” as the law requires.

Yessiree....... truly amazing how this happens. Damn near every “blue” state is the same. Georgia, Texas and Tennessee are well on their way, sadly.

Lol, indirect subcontracted Veganism... The byproduct of the Veganism source is what we are after. :)

I know one thing, the anti-meat day would become my meat day.

I tried a plant based burger and it was delicious!
It was from the meat packing plant.
