Earlier this week during a San Francisco budget committee meeting, it was revealed that the city’s “Safe Sleeping Villages” homeless tent program was costing $16.1 million a year, or around $5,000 per person per month.

$5,000 per month to hang out on the street and do drugs. Go figure.
Cool.
Give each of them $5000 cash to go somewhere else.
“$5,000 per month to hang out on the street and do drugs. Go figure.”
No. $2,500 to the politicians. $2,500 to their contracting friends.
Worth every penny, especially if it brings more homeless people to SF.
$5000 a month? I’m retired and don’t have near that pension income!
Agreed. They should expand the program by an order of magnitude.
So I’ll head to SF and get me a Nice tent. For $5 grand it will have as much square footage as my house and probably come with an air conditioner!
Would tiny houses by cheaper? Then again, s.f. Just think of the prestige. “I Mau be homeless but I’m in “the ‘bay’ area”!
This. The money goes to so-called activist groups that pretend to give a damn about the homeless. Just like how money for poverty programs aimed at inner-city blacks end up in the pockets of race hustlers and city councilmen.
Wonder what the everyday, tax-paying liberal Dem voters in SF think of this - SUCKERS!
$5,000 per month. I would like to have the local fentanyl dealership around there
“The money goes to so-called activist groups that pretend to give a damn”
That is included in my ‘politicians’ category.
Yep just like all the money that went to BLM didn’t go to helping the black community NO ONE seems to know where the hell the 90 million went!! George Floyd’s dad is suing for 20 million LOL, LOL, LOL!!! They used his son’s name to gather all this money and NONE went to the family!!
“$5,000 per month. I would like to have the local fentanyl dealership around there”
You really think the homeless get any of this money!
$5,000 a month? You could get an apartment in SF for less then that! What a complete rip off of the taxpayer! Who is getting the kick backs! Oh Nancy, paging Nancy.......
Bet 95% is for admin costs.
“Hunter Biden Tents” ARE expensive!
OMG for 5,000 a month they could put them in an apartment and buy groceries for the month AND the apartment in CA. would run $2,000.00 a month for a one bedroom
5 grand to pitch a tent?
Would.love to see exactly where that money goes. How much is a tent at Camping World and other similar places? Something seems odd about all of this.
