New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's emergency powers would be limited by state legislators under new legislation, the leaders of the state's Democratic legislative majorities announced Tuesday.
They said they had finalized a deal to strip Cuomo of his emergency coronavirus powers. It comes amid growing uproar surrounding his alleged treatment of women and his handling of the deadly coronavirus outbreak in the state’s nursing homes.
State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, a longtime Cuomo ally, had at first resisted such measures. But on Tuesday, he joined State Sen. Andrew Stewart-Cousins, the Senate’s majority leader, to announce the move.

A growing number of Democratic lawmakers have called on Cuomo to resign following the sexual harassment allegations, including U.S. Rep. Kathleen Rice. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who has often feuded with the governor, said that if the allegations are true, Cuomo cannot govern.

What a complete surprise that Andy is a jerk. Who could have seen that comming?
No one man should be trusted with such dictatorial powers.
If anyone actually followed the constitution it would be apparent that it constitutionally illegal for any legislature to delegate such powers to a governor. The constitution give the federal government the responsibility to ensure that the states have a representative government. In this case the states are ruled by dictators. But don’t expect the lawless and Corrupt USSC to rule as such.
Folks should read the fine print.
NYS is replacing one dictator with a legislature full of them.
It’s murder. It was deliberate killing of helpless and vulnerable people.
Somebody needs to ask Democrat Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie where he’s been for the past year. The NY State Legislature consists of a large Democrat majority in both chambers. They are the ones who gave Cuomo these emergency powers, and they are the ones who sat back, and said nothing while he abused those powers. The RATS are just as guilty as Cuomo.
Which proves it’s power, control and politics- not health. If these measures are necessary for public safety, then the governor being a sexual predator shouldn’t matter.
You know, the more I think about this the more it reminds me of Hitler who put people to death in chambers. Cuomo did the same thing without even a care.
Where is their deal to indict him for murder, convict him, sentence him, and hang him by his filthy neck?
He needs to be charged for negligent homicide. The game the Democrats are playing are to make you focus on his sexual aggressions and ignoring his homicides. Then, he will be exonerated by these very women who will say, well, he wasn’t that bad....DON’T fall for it, and never let his negligence go unpunished.
So, is Cuomo going to sign it? Lol!
Mission accomplished: Trump is out now, so no need to further destroy people’s lives and livelihoods ...
Similar to Al Capone. They got Al on tax issues - not murder, etc.
Mass murder of seniors by Cuomo is OK by dems, but the MeToo was a bridge to far.. even Hillary dropped her political cover.
Also, the dems may be clearing the deck for Kamala, etc. by removing Cuomo for a future Presidential run.
The question is whether Kathy Hochul is crazy enough for the NYC cabal or if they will dump her for re-election
Every dictator needs to kill some people in order to prove to himself that he’s really, actually, honestly, literally... a dictator.
