New York state Rep. Colin Schmitt (R) believes the state “very well could” end up with a Republican governor following Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) nursing home coverup, which he referred to as a “criminal conspiracy to the highest order.”
He told Breitbart News Sunday the scandal is bringing together progressive, far-left assembly members with Republicans and slammed New York Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY), who recently hired an ex-gang member to serve as a senior adviser to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), for remaining silent.

D is their religion. It is who they are.
But a Republican elected to either Mayor of NYC or the Governor of NY would spend their whole term being blamed for all the problems caused by years and years of Democratic rule.
That is a defeatist attitude, Mr. Trump increased his percentage in New York State. Now Mr. Cuomo is providing us an opportunity that the media can not ignore. The Democrat monopoly wasn’t created in a day, and wont be erased in a day. Chip away at their power like water eroding a rock.
Do they have Dominion voting machines? If so, that guarantees a Democrat win for any future race.

It is possible for a good Republican presidential candidate to carry the state. But both NY and IL have state parties that are so utterly corrupt and worthless that they can’t produce a decent candidate.
Many Pubs used to be to the left of many Dems, and I think that it is arguable that Illinois is the one state where no switch ever fully took place.
Even in the south, one has the poor dems, the redneck pubs, and the more or less elite—with the result that one has gone from corrupt Dems ruling to the RINOs being in charge—and the new boss is pretty well the same as the old boss.

Last GOP Governor (Pataki) was a spendaholic gun grabber.
New York Republicans = moderate Democrats anywhere else, even if they get the “Comservative Party” endorsement. There is no difference between most NY Republicans and a Palm Beach County Bocacrat Democrat.
The 'media' has been ignoring truth/reality for decades. If anything, Cuomo will be thrown under the bus for another democrat and the media will skewer any republican who attempts to run.

When I lived in New York 15 years ago, I first signed up as “Conservative.” I thought - well, that’s what I am.
What I came to see was that our local “conservative” party was a strange little clique, who showed up at the door once a year for signatures or donations. They never did anything noteworthy, seemed to focus more on infighting, and would even support Democrats on their “line” for God-knows what reason.
I was reminded of the “Palestinian Liberation Front” skit from Monty Python’s Life of Brian.
I’ve always compared New York to the former East Germany. its cold, it snows, young people flee to get opportunity elsewhere - and every political entity is in fact all part of the larger uniparty system, controlled far away.
