Outrage in North Carolina over lieutenant governor’s past remarks about Jews
Times of Israel ^ | 2/20/21

Posted on 02/21/2021 11:57:27 AM PST by Impala64ssa

An array of North Carolina Jewish figures and the Republican Jewish Coalition have called on North Carolina’s lieutenant governor to apologize for past comments about Jewish control.

Jewish Insider on Friday quoted a number of Jewish officials who were appalled by Mark Keith Robinson’s comments on Jews and their influence. Robinson, a Republican, has said he will not apologize for things he said before he became an elected official.

“His refusal to apologize is troubling and unacceptable to us,” said Matt Brooks, the director of the Republican Jewish Coalition. “These kinds of comments have no place in our society.”

Typical of the reactions of North Carolina’s Jews was Rabbi Lucy Dinner of Temple Beth Or in Raleigh. “I believe that Mark Robinson’s election in North Carolina is, as we would say in Yiddish, a shanda,” meaning a disgrace, she told Jewish Insider.

Among Robinson’s offenses was an attack in 2018 on the creators of the Black Panther character, after a movie about the Marvel Comics superhero came out.

“It is absolutely AMAZING to me that people who know so little about their true history and REFUSE to acknowledge the pure sorry state of their current condition can get so excited about a fictional ‘hero’ created by an agnostic Jew and put to film by satanic marxist,” said Robinson, who is African American, in a Facebook post.

“How can this trash, that was only created to pull the shekels out of your Schvartze pockets, invoke any pride?” he added, invoking a Yiddish pejorative for African Americans. “Shekels,” the name of the Israeli currency, is often used in anti-Semitic literature.

In October, the Raleigh News & Observer found a conversation that Robinson had in 2019 with a fringe religious leader named Sean Moon. In the interview, Moon invokes anti-Semitic tropes about the Rothschild family, and Robinson says “That’s exactly right.”

Black Panther was created in the 1960s by two Jewish comic book creators, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The 2018 film was directed by Ryan Coogler, a Black filmmaker who is involved in social justice causes.

The state and national Republican parties have so far been silent about Robinson. Robinson has become a hero on the right for his unapologetic stand in taking on the left in culture wars. The conservative Washington Free Beacon recently ran a flattering profile entitled “North Carolina’s First Black Lt. Gov. Leads Fight Against Radical Curriculum.”

He should take back these remarks. They were themselves shameful, regardless of what Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton have said and done.

I rate your response utter BS. He said nothing that indicted all Jews, just certain people who happen to be Jewish.

As for shekles, that was an ancient form of currency, and in no way is it used as a dis upon Jews at all:

Shekel or sheqel is an ancient Near Eastern coin, usually of silver. A shekel was first a unit of weight-very roughly 11 grams-and became currency in ancient Tyre and ancient Carthage and then in ancient Israel under the Maccabees.

He has nothing to apologize for at all, for his words were not "shameful" as you so ignorantly claim them to be, nor can they even begin to compare to what Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton have said and done.

“..“Shekels,” the name of the Israeli currency, is often used in anti-Semitic literature. ...” - Not true!

...“Shekels,” the name of the Israeli currency, is often used in everyday conversation and literature.

Bein Jewish and from NC, this is the first I have heard of anything like this. I take it is more an attack on the Lt Gov’s conservative stances.

Certain groups of secular liberal Jews have said far worse things about Jews.

Keep in mind that WRAL-TV and radio long based in Raleigh, now run by a foundation formed from the family that owned the station all the way back to before Jesse Helms was a broadcaster on their network-— WRAL-TV has accused the pro-2nd Amendment black Lt. Gov. Robinson of being.... wait for it.... a Klansman!

This is incredible news first (the 1920’s recent peak of a 2nd version of the Klan Hq’d in Indiana— never has had any black members). The Klan of today is almost non-existent.

Important to point out the controversy properly. The ownership of WRAL is aligned with the dem governor, and the jew-ish Atty General who arranged for the State Board of Elections to be all from the dem party, and they tried to rig the Federal elections in 2020 (Trump still won NC because the republican legislature sued and received injunctions from 2 Federal Judges on not allowing “mail in ballots” ie not absentees and on verifying signatures on any absentees and voter ID required at the polls. This stopped the dems.

And Robinson won on the strength of his pro-self defense 2nd. Amendment home and family RIGHTs against criminals. His voters black and white voted for Trump!

The WRAL cartoon was to support BLM’s critical race theory being required to be taught in NC schools.

Here’s the Black Community news page with the cartoon and the details. Amazingly stupid (and liberal jew-ish Communists who support JoeBama are behind this craziness).

No- the non-liberal non-elitist regular working people of NC- white, black, Christian traditionalists and traditional Jews all know what he is talking about. The governor and his non-practicing jew-”ish” ultra leftist election fixing Atty General are a cabal of Leftists, and they are in the universities and a clique of power people (they think). Robinson gave a similarly to the point presentation to the Greensboro city council on his firearm rights— that pulled no punches and won him the Lt. Governorship from the REAL Republicans, the ones who supported Trump.

The blacks who are not linked to the campus Marxist/BLMs (who are dominated by white trust fund jacka@@es,) who have working families— they understand Robinson perfectly well. In that world these “=ish” people are gouging slumlords and paycheck loan sharkers (the people from the credit card world who support JoeBama, the Senator from MBNA/Capitol One Delaware corporate thieves world). They know whom he is talking about and it cannot be glossed over by inserting some claim of antisemitism as a cover up.

Oh, I agree, real people know exactly what he meant.

The press knows it too, but of course they lie and distort for their Dem masters. That’s why I think he should be pro-active and make a statement not only explaining his remarks and stressing his point (these groups and their disinformation are not authentically “black” but are manipulated and funded by white leftists) but attacking the people who are trying to twist it.

Of course, that will probably never be reported anyway...

Yes they are. If Free Republic had an edit feature I would walk back some my previous comments. My point is that Mark Robinson, like all Republican, should be careful not to use verbiage that's easy fodder for this ilk.

Ha, and yet I remember reading some ‘priest’ declare America is no longer a ‘Christian’ nation... and others have itched about ‘Bible’ toting Americans, NOT assisting a ‘cause’... Well, my friends, we are in Gideon's realm, when the Heavenly Father told Gideon there were tooooo many to give the Heavenly Father the victory ... It is now on His time .. the perpetually funded offended are on marked time.

While he used some Hebrew slang the whole thing was him trashing black folks that were tripping over themselves to see the ridiculous movie, that was not shy about talking down about the white man.

Black Male Republican 2nd Amendment Supporter......they cannot have that.
