As 2022 Campaign Begins, GOP Voters Sour on Senate Republicans

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) saw the largest decline in his approval rating among GOP voters, dipping 29 points, to 41%.

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), who is up for re-election next year, saw his approval rating fall 16 points among Republican voters, and just 22% are “strongly” in his corner.

Intraparty declines for retiring Pennsylvania, Ohio senators illustrate the challenges of simultaneously satisfying both the base and the broader electorate in the Trump era ahead of contested primaries.

“You cannot say, ‘Trump voters, come out and vote and support us’ while saying ‘Trump’s a horrible person,’” said Shermichael Singleton, a former Republican consultant who worked on Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential bid. “These people are not stupid.”

By the time this is over, we’re going to be a one party nation like California.

“You cannot say, ‘Trump voters, come out and vote and support us’ while saying ‘Trump’s a horrible person,’” said Shermichael Singleton

which is exactly what they are going to try to do, along with some white supreemist shaming, and probably something to manipulate the patriotism of Trump supporters like trying to get a war going.

Actually, these people are quite smart, they certainly are tired of candidates who are full of Shiite.

Exactly as Bush League Republicans have been planning for 30 years.

They did not import a permanent Democrat majority for nothing....

Time for primary challengers to step forward and officially file to run in 2022. One challenger per seat, please.

Trump got lots of Republicans elected. McConnell doesn’t appreciate the voters who voted Republican.

<< dipping 29 points, to 41%. >>

Mitch’s approval rating at was 70% among Republican voters? Hell even the current 41% is hard to believe.

Keep it up Mitch, you're doing great.

These people are CLUELESS.

They live in their little Washington bubble, get their butts kissed 24/7 by lobbyists and staff, and are surrounded by secretly lefty poli-sci grads who have weaseled their way into positions of trust, and who whisper in these guys' ears just what they should do.

And these people are so out of touch with the average voter that all they can do to try to relate is: parrot some focus-group tested red meat once and a while, and then go back to shafting the American citizen while feathering their own nests.

Welcome to "democracy".

We already are a one party nation.

McConnell and his GOPe ilk have no desire to get in the way of the Democrats. Just keep their money lines open and they will play the game.

That’s why they don’t like Trump. He won’t play their game.

Since I stood for Trump, my own Republican Senator voted to impeach him!

I was Libertarian, changed to Republican for Trump, and as of all the mealy mouthed Republican support Trump got, returned to the Libertarian Party!!
