Most ever want third party, but GOP wants Trump in charge: Support for a national third party now at an all-time high of 62%.

Division by both sides on the directions of the Republican and Democratic parties has helped drive support for a national third party to an all-time high of 62%.

In the latest Gallup survey, just 33% are pleased with the two-party system.

What’s more, former President Donald Trump’s talk about his own “MAGA” party could be playing a role in a spike in GOP support for something new.

“Republicans' record desire for a third party comes at a time when they are deciding whether to remain loyal to Trump or to move on from him,” according to the survey analysis just released.

“Currently, 68% of Republicans prefer that Trump remain the party leader, while 31% want the party to have a new leader. Republican-leaning independents, however, are divided, with 47% wanting Trump to continue leading and 51% preferring a new voice,” Gallup said. “Republicans' preferences for a third party are similar among those who want Trump to continue to lead the party and among those who prefer a new leader.”

I was there too and he did not. The problem with your statement is that it comes from the fictional place the GOP and Dems have built to enforce their power. The place where their candidate have first claim to votes. So anybody but them that gets a vote “took” that vote. They don’t have first claim to votes. My vote is MY vote. It doesn’t belong to ANY candidate until I put it on the paper. Same with yours. People who voted for Perot MIGHT have voted for Bush if Perot hadn’t run. Or they MIGHT not have voted at all. Or maybe they’d have voted for Clinton. But it doesn’t matter, they weren’t Bush’s votes, they were the people’s votes and Bush failed to earn them.

My opinion, Splitting the Republican party into Trump and Non Trump parties will probably guarantee a Democratically controlled Congress, Presidency and Supreme Court for decades to come.

But to be fair, there are many Republicans that are just a shade off from being a Democrat. They don't care about America or the people; only their lust for maintaining their own powerbase, and the status quo.

If anyone disagrees with that assessment, just look at how hard Republicans will fight against other Republicans, but then play nice with the Democrats: McCain, Romney, etc., are perfect examples of this.

The harsh reality is simple, until a third party emerges; and no one doesn't think it will take time, little will change in DC.

Trump has the ability to draw from both Republicans and Democrats. No other person in the political arena today has that ability.

Trump tried that and the GOP teamed up with Democrats to cheat him out of office.

We want MAGA. WE LOVE TRUMP

WE HATE RINOS.

DEMONCRAPS ? Fuggetsboutit!

What’s the answer everyone ?

Of course the stupid ass Marxist leftist communist America hating Democrats want Republicans to split into two with a third-party - that would be the best thing that ever heard of i

It was kind of like the Green party with the Democrats back in the day. I don’t think there’s any doubt that Ralph Nader cost Al Gore the election in 2000

Our great and wonderful president Donald J Trump is absolutely brilliant and a leader with a forthright in long-term vision for both the country and the conservative/Maga movement

I think pretty much all of us are on board with just waiting for what he comes up with next

GOP wants Trump in charge? I believe Mitch McConnell more when he says he plans to fight Trump supported candidates. They want Trump in the party (so he doesn’t take all their support to a third party) but utterly emasculated and obedient.

The GOP needs to die so that something better and not utterly corrupted can rise.

There needs to be a new economic based party. Leave the GOP money behind. No ties to traitors. Start fresh.

Third party is a commie plot to split the Republican party. Don’t fall for it.

Let the Dem’s split their party into the radical communist that they are. Then they will never win an election, unless they stuff those ballot boxes again to look like Dolly Parton’s bra.

There is zero time to mess around with trying to get people to recognize and come into a “3rd” party (replacement party is what you really want). These jackboots already have their way with BLM and Antifa running riot around the country, tyrannical rules about a virus with a 1% death rate, and shaming everyone with ads and re-naming city areas for BLM.

There is ZERO time for this nonsense.

It will only GUARANTEE commie Dem rule.

Agree 100%

They have spent the last 30 years acting as blockers for the Democrats, blocking conservatives from saving our country.
Their entire purpose as a party has been to prevent the citizens from stopping the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA)

We ALREADY have commie Dem rule, thanks to GOP cooperation.

I am done voting for betrayal, unless something better than Assistant Democrat (GOP) is on my ballot, I either don’t bother voting or go kamikaze and vote Democrat for one cycle to kill the GOP.
The GOP exists to block conservatives from saving our country.
They want their New World Order and they have been importing a permanent Democrat majority for 30 years to get it.

a third political party of Trump supporters will guarantee Democratic control.

I wonder how many of the 62% were Pelosi trolls??

Every County GOP party in my neck of the woods is an ardent Trump supporter. I don’t see them supporting a third party. It will only diminish them.

I completely agree with that. The GOP is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I just think we have a much better chance of making the party much better than it currently is over the course of the next few elections.

Starting a new party doesn’t fix it at all. The truth is that even if a new party was started and even a few seats were won in congress, they’d never have enough power in our lifetime to lead either congressional chamber.

They’d simply have to caucus with the republicans, and I’m not sure really how that’s a better option that just spending a ton of money targeting good races to flip a democrat seat or defeat a current GOP lite member in a primary.

Sometimes it looks like some people want to cut their noses off to spite their faces. I’m not about sending a message. I’m about winning elections and taking over as many seats as possible, with conservative candidates.

Lets low ball it and say that only 70 million of us voted for PRESIDENT TRUMP, if PRESIDENT TRUMP started a new party it would need to be financed.

70 million times a hundred dollars apiece equals something like 7 BILLION dollars, I kinda think that would buy us a place at the table.

Think about it; no Wall Street donors, no Chamber of Commerce donors, no Big Business donors, no Military/Industrial Complex donors; just 70 million of us, to use that money as we see fit on candidates we see fit.

Our loyalty would be only to ourselves and the Constitution of the United States.

I think 70 BILLION dollars would buy a lot of clout in Local/State/ Congressional/Senatorial races.

“it will only diminish them”.

Not if they ARE PART of that third party and bring their organization with them.

What if 70-75 million voted for Republican?

We have to stop assuming everyone was YUGE on Trump. We’re not all so.

So there will definitely be a split that makes it sooooo easy for Dems to win every time.
