This “boomer” pulled the plug on working 3 years ago when I turned 70. I had planned to work that long and a change of leadership at the head of the organization I worked for, made it an easier departure than I was expecting. I still miss the folks I worked with and supervised.

Hey, that's my story! I had a great job until my boss retired and they brought in a putz to replace him. I lasted 14 months...

That’s awesome. You deserve to do whatever the heck you want now. But for those who do not step aside, it causes a ripple in the economy that has been depressed due to them.
