The GOP had to replace the corrupt hopeless Whig party.
Time for a change.

People really should study up on their history. Look at how well Teddy Roosevelt did with the Bull Moose Party

What party committed suicide just prior to the civil war?

What NEW party took both houses of congress AND the POTUS?

I’ll never vote republican again. Plan to get as much stimulus as I can then get out of this country which is on the verge of financial disaster

I totally disagree. The PTB owns the electorate.

80 million people did not vote for a demented old man.

It’s time to be done with the GOPe.

The analogy of 1912 and the Bull Moose Party is not necessarily valid, so there is no absolute certainty that history will repeat itself (a one-time vote splitter that reverted to one Republican option thereafter).

Discontent with the Republican Party could be deeper now than it was when Teddy Roosevelt mounted his challenge to them.

The tipping point for a new alternative (for a third party to replace a second party) is about 75 to 80 per cent voter support. Once the alternative reaches that thresh-hold, it would have enough momentum to kill off the remaining support for the defunct “second party” — this has been demonstrated in the politics of other countries where similar things happened in the past.

A certain number of supporters of the original party will hold on for a while more out of concern for vote-splitting than preference for the policies, but when their concerns are rendered invalid by the voting results, they will also jump to the new party. At that point the old party is left with only its inner core of support, likely those who feel entitled to patronage. When the party cannot provide patronage, they too will be gone.

If the Patriot Party does things right, by 2023 the only people voting Republican will be Mitt Romney and his dog.

you have to look at statistically what would happen with the numbers voting Dem, Republican and PP

IMO, the Rs and the Ds have merged on most matters and it's highly unattractive. The PP would attract disaffected Rs, Independent Trump voters like me and some blue collar Ds, who voted for Trump. Normal political strategy has forever changed. It's time to save our nation and the Republican party isn't capable of that.

did you perchance notice that the GOP
after Jan. 6 IMMEDIATELY SOLD OUT THE PRESIDENT (again).

there is nothing to take over.

THE GOP = pedophiles, childeaters, child-traffickers,
traitors, seditionists, and those that permit the above.

The thought occurred to me that it might be time to start another new party on the left, try to split their vote in two. The Social Democrats under Bernie Sanders and AOC, vs the Liberal Democrats under Hillary Clinton and some poor chump — the actual 45% that vote Democrat split 25-20, I don’t know who gets the 10% top-up of phoney votes, maybe they split that too.

Here’s a side by side comparison of the Patriot, Dem and Rep Parties from the Patriot Party site.

The PP is not so hot on social issues and they don’t say much about immigration.

Check it out here: https://patriotparty.info/about-compare.php

Although I am all for the destruction of the GOP, I’m worried what this might do at state level in states like Florida. What happens to Desantis? I’d love to see Rubio and Scott taken down by Patriot challengers, but losing Desantis to a ‘rat would be be a catastrophe.

“financial disaster”

You got that right. We might not get to vote again.

The new party needs to focus on local and state elections and only those where they have a pretty sure bet at the federal level in 2022. See how it goes, and then go after the federal level in 2024.

BTW. the republicans will come crawling on their knees to garner support from a new party if this happens.

Not a good idea says this life long Conservative.

Whatever you call the breakaway party, it will compete with good GOPers in 3 way races (Dem, GOP, Breakaway) and ensure Dem victories.

Look at the damage that the Losertarians do, look at Ross Perot.

A better idea?

Relabel the Breakaway party the Traditional Republican Party, and work to control the GOP from within.
