National Guard troops were forced to evacuate the Capitol building grounds on Thursday and hang out in parking garages, allegedly after a Democrat congressman complained about one National Guard member not wearing a mask at a cafe in the building.

According to a source, Rep. Will Keating (D-MA) reported to the Capitol building authorities earlier in the day that a National Guardsman was seen in a Dunkin Donuts without a mask on.

After Keating commented out loud that masks were required to be worn at all times in a federal building, the National Guard member responded, “I appreciate my freedom,” according to the source.

National Guard commanders are now looking for the National Guard member, according to the source.

Not everyone wears his heart on his sleeve. If a Fort Sumter moment ever materializes, we’ll have plenty of people on the inside. And this time, the red states would have a big chunk of the industry and munitions plants, as well as the more economically-rational state governments.

Here’s a bit of a side note more than anything else - did the Soviet Union break up peacefully because one of the alternatives was a civil war that involved an all-out nuclear exchange? Would Ukraine have nuked Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad? Did the Russians want to find out?

If anyone left or right knew... soldiers sleep on the ground frequently.

So funny to this wedge issue.

Logically, they needed to mass billet and frrd them together. To put everyone of 25k on temp duty zo DC would have nearly $700 a day if mess and quarters were separately authorized.

The reason someone used this idea is because soldiers are a cheap manpower solution compared to anything else. No one would have used more than a few thousand soldiers if the cost factor wasn’t what it is. Per deim is a lot.

The real issue is this misuse of these soldiers is that this is most likely there two week annual unit training so Unit Readiness will suffer.

It is outrageous to screw the army out of an effective back up of trained units and soldiers.
