"Holy Grail" – Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments Reverse Aging Process in First Clinical Trial
SciTechDaily ^ | 19 January 2021 | Tel Aviv University

Posted on 01/19/2021 9:22:33 AM PST by zeestephen

The researchers exposed 35 healthy individuals aged 64 or over to a series of 60 hyperbaric sessions over a period of 90 days...The findings indicated that the treatments actually reversed the aging process in two of its major aspects: The telomeres at the ends of the chromosomes grew longer instead of shorter, at a rate of 20%-38% for the different cell types; and the percentage of senescent cells in the overall cell population was reduced significantly – by 11%-37% depending on cell type...The paper was published in Aging on November 18, 2020.

One session is 90 minutes.

The cost of that mush HBO would be over $50,000

I doubt that the effects are permanent.

There’s long been loads of talk in the medical fads community about “anti-oxidants” being very important in terms of holding back the ravages of time. How can that fad mesh with this fad? There is nothing more anti- “anti-oxidant” than Hyperbaric Oxygen.

The reversal is as to two microbiological markers of aging, not in any other aspects. There is no proof of better health, appearance, or longer lifespan.

I’ve gotten that same effect vaporizing diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide 1:50 parts filtered water.

I started with an experiment of seeing whether I could get rid of the noxious odor from a dog next door — and in desperation, put straight 3% peroxide in one of those “essential oil” diffusers — to see what would be the effect. It immediately and definitively eliminated that horrendous odor from next door, and then thought to see if it worked as well on bathroom odors — and it did. So I thought I had definitively found something that was effective at something even commercial air purifiers were not.

Next, I thought to place it on my headboard by my bed, but since I had worked out hard that day, fell asleep and woke up the next morning totally refreshed and feeling great — with negligible muscle pain as usually lasted an entire week for me before I felt fully recovered for the next bodybuilding workout. I also noted that the arthritis pain I had experienced since childhood in my joints and particularly my hands and feet, were also gone — along with the inflammation.

The only notable side effects of vaporizing 3% is slight eye irritation, and then diarrhea — similar to what antibiotics and antifungals produce — and so I knew I had to dilute sufficiently to reduce those effects — because one doesn’t want to solve one problem by producing many other problems. That is why the adage of “minimum effective dose” comes into play.

So I diluted (titrated) until I decided 50 parts filtered water gave me most of the benefits (still eliminated odors) but none of the undesired side effects.

On further reading and research, I found that many doctors had already written papers claiming cures with ingesting or injecting pure grade hydrogen peroxide — because it enhances oxygen into the blood and tissues — and kills bacteria, fungus, viruses, cancer, etc. because they cannot live in an aerobic (with oxygen) environment, and peroxide, is simply an atom of oxygen dissolved in water H20 to become H2O2.

And then I noticed I no longer had any of those respiratory issues I thought would haunt me for the rest of my days — as it had from childhood. I was particularly concerned about my COPD (chronic bronchitis), sinusitis, and sleep apnea or snoring problems, as well as the typical thickening of the mucus and phlegm in older people that causes those problems.

So I looked up if hydrogen peroxide was harmful to the body and found instead that it was even produced in the body — in the lungs, gut, and thyroid — as the basis of the immune system. It signals to the body where the white blood cells need to go.

It became increasingly clear to me that this was the fountain of youth, or holy grail — that could be easily and cheaply accessed in this manner — as a basic health strategy for optimizing the environment one lives in. Then without all these “age-related” compromising conditions, those who want to optimize their health can readily access it — rather than spend $50,000 for these optimizing treatments available only to the billionaires.

Hyperbaric oxygen is widely used to help racing horses recover quickly from their exertions and injuries — as well as oxygen therapy being utilized in many end stage lung conditions. But also, athletes also use it to recover quickly from their exertions. But people like Fauci might be incensed at the thought that it would virtually eliminate most allergies and infectious diseases — and then how would he earn his handsome lifestyle?

The CUNNINGHAM SANITARIUM was a 5-story-high spherical steel structure designed to maintain a pressurized atmosphere to aid in the treatment of various diseases, especially diabetes. The sanitarium was built by H. H. Timken, owner of the Timken Roller Bearing Co. of Canton, OH, after a friend of his underwent successful treatment by Dr. Cunningham. The site was chosen because of its location on the lake and the quiet and beauty of the surroundings. The structure, a 900-ton ball 64’ high, with 38 rooms and 350 portholes, was built in 1928 by the Melbourne Construction Co. at a cost of $1 million. The ball was attached to a 3-story sanitarium hotel by a series of steel tanks resembling gas storage tanks. Patients taking the air cure could eat, sleep, read, and play games in the pressurized tanks.

Please note that one million dollars in 1928 is worth anywhere from $15,000,000 up to $215,000,000 today, depending on the method of calculation used...

I hope I die before I get old

Wait until you get old and then say that. Might change your mind.

Yes, but do go into that machine every day for 90 minutes for 60 days? Aside from the cost, I don’t know. In other words you do this evety single day?

I am sure it might work

I think these units run in the tens of thousands. You have to have someone monitor you.

Anything can cause a fire. Imagine you’re in the unit, and there’s a fire? This happens, esp at these places where the guy has bought the unit, then sticks you in it, and he takes off, and comes back 90 minutes later.

I’ve used these for our wound care patients.

We’ve had some people in there for 45-60 days for various reasons. I’ve asked these people if they have more energy, feel, better over all. Have you noticed your skin softer, etc.

No one has said it makes a difference.

Don’t get me wrong, I think it would work, but it would cost prohibitive except for multi millionaires.

That’s the exact one we use at our wound care clinic. You don’t just climb in there and go to sleep.

THese are used also for The Bends from scuba diving, but it can also cause the bends if you come up to fast.

You need a technician.

Like I said. I’m sure the unit works, but you would need to pay someone about $100-$200 per day, along with the cost of the unit.

SO, around $35,000-$40,000 per year.

If you’re George Soros, you can afford the treatment, The rest of us, not so much.

Also, remember what happened to Apollo 1: Oxygen-saturated environment plus a spark = raging fire.

What is desired is a restoration of youth and vigor or at least a recovery of reliable middle age function — and that takes much more than reversing a few biological markers of aging.

The chamber in the picture at the original article shows a normal air pressurization unit with the patients breathing oxygen thru masks. In this type of HBOT the risk of fire is greatly reduced. The pressurization is probably less than 2 ATMA (about 30 PSIA). O2 poisoning could be a problem at higher pressures.

HBOT has also been tried as therapy for people with TBI and PTSD with some positive results.

Well, it reverses a specific part of the aging process, because the telomeres start growing again instead of shrinking. I think they just don’t continue growing once you stop the treatments.

I think it’s just sloppy writing on the part of the author to say that this reversal is the same as reversing the whole aging process. Obviously people are not turning into Benjamin Buttons just by sucking on more oxygen.

a series of 60 hyperbaric sessions over a period of 90 days.

Luckily they were test subjects.........

Check out the costs of one session and their claims of how many sessions are needed and won't be paid for by your insurance company.

As far as I'm concerned, if the local commercials claim they cure autism then it's just bullshit snake oil...........

I had to undergo 60 days of hyperbaric chamber treatment before I could have a dental bridge installed.

And just who recommended that and what were his/her credentials?
