Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and his health department announced Thursday that Texas had administered more than one million first doses, making the Lone Star State the national leader in vaccinations against the Chinese coronavirus.
Republican-led states appear to be doing better in getting their residents vaccinated than those governed by Democrats, as of today.
The governor declared in a statement:
Texas is leading the way for our nation once again. This is the biggest vaccination effort we have ever undertaken, and it would not be possible without the dedication and tireless efforts of our healthcare workers. We still have a long road ahead of us, but Texans continue to prove that we are up to this challenge.

We are good at being efficient.
It may take six states several years to attain the level of 1,000,000 citizens to vaccinate. Some may NEVER get there.
So this is a pretty useless story if it’s just raw numbers alone

What are you smoking years? Texas has vaccinated a 900,000 in a week, last week the number was under 90k. I’m in group 1B and provider already has my.dose but I told him to e-mail me when he has the J&J version the single dose not MRna form of it. At this rate every at risk Texan will be vaccinated should they choose too in inder 4 weeks and the whole population in 3 months time this ends for Texas in half that time since 25% have already been infected and with a 50% vaccine penetration rate would get us firmly into the 75% penetration rate required for actual herd immunity with the current R0 around 1.8
blue states are dragging their feet on purpose...they are purposefully holding back the vaccine and are willing to let even more people die so that they can show how fast vaccinations went up after Biden is in office ... yes, democrats are this evil.

I am sure that the same age and co-morbidity criteria are used in vaccinating “foreigners”, so your so-called “argument” fails.
The proper measure is immunizations per unit of population.
Does Cuomo even know he is sitting on 2/3rds of the vaccines Trump gave him. Pathetic, just willingly killing more people.
Let’s let the Democrat voters get the vaccine first, it’s the least we can do.

American citizens should be protected—first.
Which is a nice sentiment. Unfortunately, disease doesn't respect your sentiments. The point of vaccination is to stop the disease from spreading, and the only way to do that is to vaccinate everybody willing to be vaccinated.
