We already know that Joe Biden ran on the most anti-gun platform of any presidential candidate in American history, but if gun owners had any doubt about the sincerity of the next president’s desire to attack the right to keep and bear arms, Biden’s tweet on Friday pledging to “defeat the NRA” should put those doubts to rest.
The National Rifle Association responded to Biden’s message in a tweet of its own on Sunday, urging members and gun owners to stay engaged in the political fights ahead.
On Friday, Biden pledged to DEFEAT THE NRA.
Biden wants to ban our semi-auto rifles, tax our guns/mags & more. He knows the only thing standing in his way to DISMANTLE THE 2ND AMENDMENT is NRA.
Gun owners must stay vigilant & be engaged in elections and the legislative process.

The NRA isn’t the only Second Amendment organization reacting to Biden’s threat. Alan Gottlieb, founder and executive vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation, says that Biden may have called out the NRA by name, but the upcoming political assault on the right to keep and bear arms is going to be directed against every American gun owner.
“Joe Biden has labored relentlessly for decades to reduce the Second Amendment to rubble,” Gottlieb stated. “He may attack one group by name, but his goal is to crush the rights of every gun owner in our country.
“By attacking the Second Amendment Rights of 100 million Americans,” Gottlieb continued, “Biden is not bringing us together but dividing us further. If people take to the streets in protest, if violence occurs it will be his fault and he should be impeached for violating our constitutional rights and inciting violence. Maybe it is time to ban him from Twitter and Facebook!”
Gottlieb says that SAF is kicking off a major advertising effort aimed at recruiting tens of thousands of gun owners into its 2nd Amendment First Responder program; a grassroots effort that empowers gun owners to use their voice in the political process. The 60-second commercial will air on several national networks, including Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, The Weather Channel, One America News Network, CNBC, and HLN, and urges gun owners and Second Amendment supporters to get involved by texting PROTECT 2A to 474747.
“Joe Biden isn’t fooling anybody,” Gottlieb observed. “He spent 47 years on Capitol Hill trying to turn the right to keep and bear arms into a regulated privilege. Now that he’s headed to the White House, he thinks he will be able to complete his mission. We’re working to swell the ranks of our 2nd Amendment First Responder project to stop him.
We’re in an all-hands-on-deck situation right now, and I’d echo the calls from the NRA and the SAF to get involved now. I’d also encourage all gun owners to join a state-level 2A org as well that will be able to keep you updated on good and bad bills dropping in your statehouse.
No matter how depressed, discouraged, or downtrodden you feel about the prospect of being able to defeat gun control legislation right now, the simple fact is that politics never stops. Disengaging from the political process only hurts our own cause. Even during the War of Independence and the Civil War we had elections and legislative sessions, so I feel confident in stating that the political process is going to continue during this period of unrest and uncertainty.
We need to be in the arena and not on the sidelines as state legislatures return to session and Democrats in control of Congress plan on their priorities for the coming months, and gun owners need to be unified in their opposition to any bill that seeks to address public safety by restricting the constitutionally protected rights of the People.
**Update**
Since this post is getting quite a bit of traction, I’m going to add links to some of the bigger 2A groups to make it easier for you to join and get involved.
Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, where, in full disclosure, I am an unpaid member of the board of directors.
In China, if you need a firearm for farm purposes, they loan you a shotgun and 2 rounds for a day, and then come and get their shotgun and spent casings.
The NRA needs to clean house and get back to the business of advocating for protecting our 2nd Amendment rights. They have a lot of issues one being primarily of image. They have been framed as “Evil” by the left very effectively that many Americans buy that line hook, line and sinker.
The lies we have been told over the years...
1962 We ONLY want to register handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1964, We ONLY want to register ALL firearms, not ban them.
1968 We ONLY want to register all guns, and ban the import
of foreign Saturday Night Specials, and 5-shot bolt action army surplus rifles! (they got the ban).
1970, We ONLY want to ban small American handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1976 We ONLY want to ban ALL handguns! Rifles will not be affected!
1981, Actress Lee Grant on GMA screams...”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”
1984, they made a grab for the rifles, and missed, but played their hand.
1988,Josh Sugarmann, of the National Council to Ban Handguns tells how to ban rifles.
“Assault weapons’ menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over
fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons
—anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine
gun— can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on
these weapons.”
– Josh Sugarmann
But I haven't bought any firearms since it was issued. But with recent events I'm finally gonna buy one...if for no other reason than to say to Plugs,Heels Up and others BLEEP YOU! The problem is my lawyer says that Massachusetts has a million laws on the books that can land someone like me in state prison if I even look at someone the wrong way. And there's a whackjob in my building who's always calling the cops for noise and other things...she's called about me several times but not since I got my permit.I must admit that my lawyer's warnings, along with my whackjob neighbor, scare me a bit.
Also, anyone have recommendations? Glock? Sig Sauer? S&W?
Sorry. I don’t trust the NRA anymore. Years ago they fought every issue. They would fight if there was even new labeling instructions on ammo containers.
Now they are like the RINOs and will give up stuff to be nice.
I don’t want the NRA to be nice. I want them to be feared.
When they come for our guns, we cannot individually fight the constitutionality of the confiscation laws they will pass (other than using up your rounds). Thats when the NRA becomes indispensable.
So join and support one of the other pro 2nd groups.
Move.
My family’s here.My friends are here.My memories are here.
I have membership in NRA and Gun Owners of America.
I believe they will sooner or later say any semi-automatic weapon is an assault weapon. They will try to disarm law abiding citizens but give a pass to felons, MS13 gang members and any other illegal aliens because they are too dangerous to try to disarm...and probably voted Democrat.
Move anyway.
An idea has been growing in my brain. Basically the concept of a “bench-top” armory.
The idea would be to create a series of books/how-tos/videos on building the TOOLS needed to:
- make a series of frames (pistols, ARs etc so CNC milling, perhaps casting lowers)
- stamped guns (AK, M3, etc so presses, templates and dies)
- small parts (trigger, springs, etc)
- barrels and rifling
- reloading equipment (press and dies)
- powder, primer and alternates
The starting assumption is for an individual who wants to be self sufficient, could fully equip their own armory in their garage with a minimum of space. The focus would not be the manufacture of fire arms but how to build the tools needed to build firearms.
Do this as an open source project and sell the final book/DVD to cover costs.
Yes,I understand that's an option. But I forgot to mention that I am now at a point where doctors play an important role in my life and I'm a $1.10 train ride (and 20 minute drive) from four of the best hospitals in the world. There are only two things that Boston does well....colleges and hospitals.
I think a far better solution is for SCOTUS to,once and for all, make it clear that "shall not be infringed" applies to every single US citizen living in *any* of the 50 states,DC,Puerto Rico,Guam and the US Virgin Islands.
Moving can be an adventure that opens new doors and friendships! I moved 22 times in 22 years abroad/33 total federal service.
Get your gun, ammo, etc. Get a safe to lock it in and bolt it to wall or floor in you closet.
If your weapons is locked up there can be no foul from LE if they come to your door.
Have you considered moving to a 'gun-friendly' state or city?
There is a line drawn in the ground concerning the 2nd amendment. Democrats don’t know where that line is and will keep slow walking till they cross it. Problem is that once that line is crossed there will be no turning back, no backing up the truck. At that point they will learn where the line it but it will be too late. Things will take a dramatic turn at that point.
False Flag operation expected at anytime.
Brand is not the real issue at this point, availability is. Buy what you are able to, as long as they'll sell you a box of ammo to feed it. Otherwise, good luck finding that ammo.
