Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf stepping down from Trump administration
the Washington Examiner ^ | 11 Jan 21 | Anna Giaritelli,

Chad Wolf will resign from his position as acting secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, leaving the Trump administration nine days ahead of President Trump's departure from office, a senior DHS official told the Washington Examiner Monday.

Wolf, 44, was the fifth person to lead the DHS under the Trump administration and was in his position 14 months.

Trump formally nominated Wolf to head the 250,000-person department in August, but the Senate never voted to confirm him. Wolf became acting secretary in November 2019, following the departure of acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan. The nomination was pulled shortly after Wolf criticized Trump's response to the riot at the Capitol, although the White House said the timing was coincidental.

He first came to the DHS in the early 2000s and worked at the department as it planned the establishment of the Transportation Security Administration agency following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He moved to TSA and later to a public policy lobbying firm in Washington before rejoining TSA as chief of staff in 2017. Wolf shifted to DHS headquarters under Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, who had worked with Wolf at TSA. Nielsen was DHS secretary prior to McAleenan and was chief of staff to Trump's first DHS secretary, John Kelly.

I’m not watching the video—not only do you not know how to use apostrophes, there’s the exact same error in the first few seconds of the video. If you or anyone else want to be taken seriously, learn to write proper English! </rant>

There was a link on that youtube video page that says Trump is on clouthub, https://app.clouthub.com/public/04c500f6-38a6-4840-8b13-981a2ace56e8

have to be logged in/registered, which I am. By the wording of the posts, it sounds like him. There are so many fake DJT accounts on various social networks, it’s hard to know.

“Trump formally nominated Wolf to head the 250,000-person department...”

Wolf was acting, and I read that President Trump formally removed his nomination in recent days. Media said it was because Wolf strongly advised the President to condemn the "riot." Take it with a grain of salt. There are also media reports that claimed Wolf said he wasn't going to resign because of the "siege." The IG's office back in August had previously found that "Wolf and Ken Cuccinelli were not properly installed into their roles as acting Homeland Security secretary and acting deputy. The report concluded that both men are ineligible to serve."

Of course he is resigning, having never been confirmed when this Congress ends he is out anyway. Better to resign now and leave before he has to deal wit the Biden folks.

President Trump only had what advisors gave him.

So he is really a bad picker? Disagree with all who think that.

It is written ‘Cleveland agreement’ or Cleveland something or other that Pence, Ryan, who still have their campaign site up, and little priebuss had picked his cabinet. Do not know the truth of that piece but history has shown that it very well could have been true.

Who picked Trump’s advisors for him?

Was he controlled opposition all along, which is reasonable to assume going along with your statement?

I believe it is.

I don’t recall people doing this before.

There’s only 9 days left, and the government still has to
function.

This seems to be childish signalling.

Sure I am sure ‘they’, whoever they are in the opposition controlled him. </s>

Just saying that the picks were from Christie, and some others. Not being privy to all events, do not know. Just what is written on the web and YOU know how much truth is out there. I don’t.

You ‘reasonably’ assumed more from the statement that was there. Not trying to pick an argument!!!

I’d rethink your logic if I were you. You’re saying he can’t be blamed for his picks because he had bad advisers. Either he had bad advisers because he picked bad advisers—or because someone “picked” his bad advisers for him.

There was that recent “Cleveland” doc circulating, which makes sense insofar as Manafort was brought in as Trump’s “fixer” for the convention and Manafort “fixed” that convention somehow.

There also was some documentation that came out with docs exonerating Trump on the Russian influence charge that referred to help from Israel. Given Kushner’s role quasi-running things and the reports of Kushner talking to Murdoch daily as his “mentor” from the time of the election, that too makes sense.

You’re right in that we don’t really know. But either Trump picked bad appointees and/or advisers on appointees—or they were picked for him. And if they were picked for him, then indeed he was on some level “controlled”.

OK. He is ultimately responsible for bad picks given to him by I do not know who. Sure he could have better advisors, but the republican party being what it is, not sure where he would have gotten other advisors.

If we cannot disagree on some point agreeably, adios.

The 25th Amendment is a dead letter, even if Pence invoked it all the anti-Trumpers have left the cabinet.

Kind of like they did not like the decisions they were being asked to make.

If you were in this position and are compromised and being asked to vote to take Trump out....

There is a war going on in DC. It is just now very out in the open. There is no reason to get rid of Trump this way unless they think he is not leaving and they are going to jail....yet, there is no indication of this anywhere other than Pompeo acting like he is going nowhere that says all the internet talk is true.

People are going to jail...whoever wins this battle...being part of a cabinet member that is being asked to commit treason....People are making calculated decisions on whether the risk is worth it or not. The women went first, now a young guy(who probably has a family)...They did not betray Trump like Pence but they did not like the risk either.

Wish I could see what is really taking place behind the scenes in DC.

I read something the. other day that Ryan was going to change the rules for the delegates at the. GOP convention and that is would not have allowed Trump to be voted in unless Trump agreed to the GOP picking Trump's cabinet for the first year. Something like this was done to Reagan also, that is why he got Bush I for his VP.
