Republicans lined up to blame President Donald Trump for losing at least one Georgia Senate runoff Wednesday.
Senator Mitt Romney claimed that Trump pushing allegations Georgia 'rigged' the presidential election could cost Republicans the Senate.
'It turns out that telling the voters that the election was rigged is not a great way to turn out your voters,' Romney told reporters on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning as he prepares for a joint session of Congress to certify the Electoral College results.
In Georgia's two Senate runoff elections on Tuesday, there was a less-than-expected Election Day turnout – a bad sign for Republicans in almost any election.
Democrat Reverend Raphael Warnock emerged victorious over incumbent Senator Kelly Loeffler, and, as of Wednesday morning, Democrat candidate Jon Ossoff is still leading Republican Senator David Perdue by slim margins.
Republicans immediately started turning on Trump, claiming he was to blame for their loss in Georgia and could cost them their majority in the Senate.
Georgia's voting system implementation manager Gabriel Sterling told CNN Wednesday Trump is responsible for what happened in Georgia. He also put some of the onus on forer Georgia Representative Doug Collins, who ran against Loeffler and Warnock in the open general election on November 3.

Go back and look at any of the presidential polls for the last month. They all show the momentum break up for the Democrats and down for the Republicans at the same time. Dec. 24-25-26. Right when he starts complaining about to $2000 after negotiating $600. Before that, both Senate candidates were for the $600 and winning. All he had to do was sign the bill, clam up and go golfing. But, no.

Romney needed two things to have influence or power in DC.
1) Trump as president, with small R advantage in Senate or,
2) Biden as President, with small R advantage.
He has neither. He would have preferred option 2.
Now the democrats or Chinese, or other pay day options don’t need him for anything, except for a very rare occasion. His base now hates him, and all his words are empty. This is why he is so upset...
I don’t like that we lost, but I am glad that Romney has been somewhat neutralized. My only small satisfaction from this whole mess...
The disgrace was the election of Romney to the Senate. I think even the Utahns realize that now!
