Cotton warned that if Congress threw out the electoral votes of states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where President Trump has alleged without evidence widespread election fraud, it would “take away the power to choose the president from the people.”

He said it would imperil the Electoral College and the voice it gives to smaller states like Arkansas and help Democrats “achieve their longstanding goal of eliminating the Electoral College.”

He said Congress if overrides the Electoral College’s vote, it would “take another big step toward federalizing election law.”

“Thus, I will not oppose the counting of certified electoral votes on Jan. 6,” he said.

They play these little rhetorical games.

It’s similar to the notion that a lot of Biden’s votes are from some computer algorithm that created votes out of thin air — but you can’t cancel those votes because you’d be “disenfranchising” voters. What voters?

Democrats just “say stuff”. Anything goes as long as they can get a sound bite out of it.

I am late to this thread and FR, and had sent an email to Sen Cotton about his not standing with Sen Hawley to challenge these fraudulently elected electors. He has not replied to me but I have read his published statement wherein he says his reason is to avoid setting a precedent of Congress electing a president. I sent another email to him pointing out that he seems to be totally ignoring the ongoing precedent being set wherein a few dozen democrat politicians in a few big cities can steal my vote and nothing happens. I expect my elected representatives to protect my RIGHTS. No return answer to that either.
