Scan the sports headlines, and it's not hard to see that the NFL and college football are increasingly in the crosshairs of the radical left's bid to take down America through COVID. And if recent history is any indication, Roger Goodell will soon fall all over himself to show that the NFL and he should be patted on the back by Dr. Fauci and the rest of the ruling class elites, in step with the leftist trends they all (wrongly) believe to be sweeping America.
Football has always been reviled by the left. It is quintessentially American: invented in this country; played by high-testosterone, masculine men; and operating almost entirely as a super-competitive meritocracy — i.e., the test of whether someone gets to play in the NFL is whether he can play, and play better than the other guy. In the NFL in 2020, there's no time to humor racism or any other "ism" in fielding a winning team; there's only the all-defining imperative priority to put the best players on the field and "coach 'em up" to play the game well.
All of those attributes of the sport are precisely why it has been so popular in America; it has been aligned with American cultural norms and preferences for decades. The sport's popularity is in fact proof that America as a whole is not racist — systemically or otherwise. Americans don't root for their team or watch the NFL in huge numbers based on a team's compliance with racial hiring quotas; they root and watch because they appreciate the best playing the best using talents that most of us don't have, and deciding on a level playing field who wins a competitive game and who loses.

It’s college football as well, Ohio State is in danger of not qualifying for the Big 10 Championship game because all their games keep getting cancelled.....
Currently Ohio State is 4-0
They are supposed to play Michigan this weekend a team they will defeat easily...
After that their final game is against Michigan State.
In order to qualify for the Big 10 Championship according to league rules they need to have played 6 games, if either of their two remaining games get cancelled then they would not qualify....
Because of Covid Restrictions put in place by Whitmer Michigan nor Michigan State may not be allowed to play their scheduled games and would screw Ohio State in the process....
And then the SEC decided to award the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week Award to the girl Vandy kicker.
This is why sports are dead to me.
Basically all sports this year should be considered as a glorified exhibition season.

The NFL doesn’t need help to destroy football - it’s done a great job on its own.

The fake crowd noise at televised football games in empty stadiums is annoying.
For me it’s insulting. Which is why I stopped watching.

That one can believe that football teams do not conform to hiring preferences for race, gender-challenged, etc., but everywhere else “Our Diversity is Our Strength” is BS.
BLM is celebrated by players but they cannot wrap their heads around the fact police do not get an Instant Replay.... go figure.
Black ownership seems to be a big deal with the BLM and radical types, to the extent that they want someone to foot the bill for them to take ownership of team... when in actuality on the rich were able to use family money to own teams in the past - not some structured buy out with the NFL Corporate Offices giving ownership to people who then use their Skin Color when sitting at the table to gain concessions, thus flaunting further the fact that there are already too many blacks on the teams playing now that were we are racially balancing ownership within the league.
Imagine teams based solely on the composition of whit males, black males, asian, indian, etc., using the date of the Census to determine that in the male US population there is about 20% black, 20% latin, 48% white, 4% asian, 4% indian, and then you have your Obama types who are half white and black but graviate towards being black so we’ll just count them in the black population limits.

Michigan is terrible this year, Harbaugh is likely done after this season and what better way to screw your biggest rival than to destroy their championship dreams, the Buckeyes are one of the 3-4 best teams have a legit shot at the championship....
That last is probably seen as a bonus by many in Michigan.
Football destroyed football. All that dolt commissioner had to say was that nobody has freedom of speech on the job, and he could have stopped the on-the-field protest crap. He and the rest of the cowards decided to go woke and go broke instead.
