The mother of a Florida teenager who was shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy this month was wounded at his burial service Saturday.
Quasheda Pierce, 39, was hit when a shot rang out at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Cocoa, where 18-year-old Sincere Pierce was being laid to rest just over two weeks after he and another teen were shot dead by a Brevard County Sheriff’s deputy.
Police said the wounded woman and a 16-year-old boy were both struck when a gun the teen was carrying at the burial “experienced an accidental discharge” and struck both of them, WOFL-TV reported Sunday.
The bullet went through the armed teen’s leg and then through Quasheda Pierce’s leg, the outlet said.
The wounds were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
Cops said the boy, who was not identified, was not cooperating with investigators.
The shooting sent dozens of mourners scrambling for their cars just as Sincere’s casket was being lowered into his grave, Florida Today said.

I feel for people raised in the hood. They don’t have a chance. Yes, we have to throw them in prison anyway when they go off the rails and commit crimes, but these boys with no fathers and absentee, drug-addicted mothers just don’t have a chance to grow up right. It is a sin. I am at a complete loss as to how to break the cycle. It seems we are doomed to this condition going forward in perpetuity. I wish to heaven we could find some way to break the cycle, but it seems things are only getting worse with time. Heaven help them, and us. What a tragedy.
1.) Stop excusing terrible behavior, an essential first step. (Not that you are.)
2.) Close the worse than worthless, union dominated public schools.
3.) Repeal minimum wage and child labor laws.
4.) Fire all publically supported social workers.
5.) End welfare.

I would also say that “drastic changes” in our current Great Society model would be likely to be disruptive and cause damage to a generation of people. That would be a shame. But I would say that the current Great Society model has been damaging multiple generations. Decades of tragedy because ghetto culture has been allowed to flourish. I say get rid of the Great Society, muddle through a damaged generation that struggles with the loss of welfare state coddling, and then move on. That’s the only way this ever gets better.

I am FURIOUS at the 1994 crime bill that Biden authored which led to mass incarcerations of black men.
When I see black communities with children and women but few grown men, I am beyond angry.
They are incarcerated or have criminal records that prevent them from gainful employment - therefore not able to be a husband/father figure. That plus the gov’t paying the women for the kids instead of a dad supporting them adds to the cycle. These families have every right to exist but the democrats have done so much to make sure it doesn’t happen.
And how could any black person vote for Biden knowing that he personally had a hand in preventing a ‘Racial Jungle’ for black families to thrive.
