A few freepers have ancestors going back to Jamestown, which established the Virginia colony and the beginnings of the United States a dozen years before the Pilgrims stopped on their beer run up in Massachusetts.

Rush and his patriot book writers ignore this in favor of the New England uber alles version.

We got the Plymouth Rock MA version back in the 50s in grade school.

“We got the Plymouth Rock MA version back in the 50s in grade school.”

I think everybody did, those Pilgrims & Puritans ran a great advertising campaign.

Having gone to school in Virginia I was aware of Jamestown predating Plymouth Rock by more than a decade. I was inspired to read more of the history after finding I had Jamestown ancestors. There’s some good early accounts preserved in England by the companies that sponsored the Colony.

I’ve read transcripts and entered documents. They have made claims but have not backed it with evidence that would overturn the results.

“They have made claims but have not backed it with evidence that would overturn the results.”

Overturning the results is an issue, but shouldn’t be THE issue. For every fraudulent ballot or act, a qualified voter has been disenfranchised; his vote stolen.

...America’s first Thanksgiving was about prayer, not food.

So was the second in Plymouth, though they did also have a feast.

I totally agree. But if it’s not enough to overturn the vote, it falls far sort of massive. So why use the word? The ballots that are fraudulent need to be investigated. But so many of the claimed fraudulent ballots have been found to be legitimate. I’m not saying it was 100% squeeky clean. It never will be. But to claim massive and you have a handful at best is just as dishonest and disenfranchising.

For the effort that Rudy’s group is doing, you’re right. For the Dominion stuff, some expert said that for Biden’s numbers to have ended as they did, there’s a “one in many quadrillion chance” that could have happened. That would be “massive”.

Of course, everyone’s an expert...

The Trump team wasn't just arguing fraudulent ballots, they were also arguing illegally cast ballots.

They are arguing that many of the mail-in ballots were cast against the law as passed by the legislature. They are arguing that late-received ballots are unconstitutional, that ballots with no signature match are unconstitutional, and that ballots with no clear postmark are unconstitutional.

They are further arguing that these lax restrictions on mail-in ballots violates equal protection because in-person voters were subjected to further signature validations that the mail-in voters were not.

The question is whether this set of ballots are enough to overturn the election.

They made all kinds of claims, but haven’t backed up those claims with evidence. They’ve not presented any of those items in sufficient quantity to change the results when they have presented evidence. You can’t say I have 5 fuzzy postmarks but mathmatically there should be 12,000 so randomly select that quantity of Biden ballots and toss them out. Just doesn’t work that way. They need to have all 12,000 defective ballots. And so far they haven’t produced that.

One expert doing an extrapolation where the constants are unknown. And why wouldn’t they have applied those same flags to the downstate tickets too? They may have lost their chance at controlling the senate. And the house is now in striking distance in 2022. It’s just as easy to write a macro to cover everything as it is just one race.

They don't have to argue the fuzziness of postmarks at all if the law passed by the legislature said all ballots must be received by the close of polls on Tuesday and the court arbitrarily changed the law.

The evidence in this case is the existence of the ruling.

If the Supreme Court agrees that the lower court, governor, and election officials unconstitutionaly usurped legislative power, then they could rule that all ballots received after the close of polls are disqualified regardless of the legibility of the postmark.

On that, yes they could. But that is a physical number. Not an extrapolation or something theoretical. But the lower court judge could have made the ruling based on something brought out by the defendants that made the law not legal. Some case law or precedent. Even then, I doubt believe if an upper court rules against the lower court judge there are enough of those to overturn the results.

The lower court was partisan, just like the Florida state Supreme Court was in 2000. The federal Supreme Court overruled them at least twice.

You should know that.

I was driving when I heard Rush close out his show with the statement you are referring to. I was thinking the very same thing, and got pretty misty-eyed. Started *praying* even harder for him.

Praying for a miracle for our beloved Rush, Lord...

Bonjour y'all! Laissez le bon Trump rouler!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all y'all. No ping tomorrow or Friday.

Le Grande Thanksgiving
aka Explaining Thanksgiving to the French

by Art Buchwald, The Washington Post

This confidential column was leaked to me by a high government official in the Plymouth colony on the condition that I not reveal his name.

One of our most important holidays is Thanksgiving Day, known in France as le Jour de Merci Donnant.

Le Jour de Merci Donnant was first started by a group of Pilgrims (Pèlerins) who fled from l'Angleterre before the McCarran Act to found a colony in the New World (le Nouveau Monde) where they could shoot Indians (les Peaux-Rouges) and eat turkey (dinde) to their hearts' content.

They landed at a place called Plymouth (now a famous voiture Américaine) in a wooden sailing ship called the Mayflower (or Fleur de Mai ) in 1620. But while the Pèlerins were killing the dindes, the Peaux-Rouges were killing the Pèlerins, and there were several hard winters ahead for both of them. The only way the Peaux-Rouges helped the Pelerins was when they taught them to grow corn (mais). The reason they did this was because they liked corn with their Pèlerins.

In 1623, after another harsh year, the Pèlerins' crops were so good that they decided to have a celebration and give thanks because more mais was raised by the Pèlerins than Pèlerins were killed by Peaux-Rouges.

Every year on the Jour de Merci Donnant, parents tell their children an amusing story about the first celebration.

It concerns a brave capitaine named Miles Standish (known in France as Kilometres Deboutish) and a young, shy lieutenant named Jean Alden. Both of them were in love with a flower of Plymouth called Priscilla Mullens (no translation). The vieux capitaine said to the jeune lieutenant :

"Go to the damsel Priscilla ( allez très vite chez Priscilla), the loveliest maiden of Plymouth ( la plus jolie demoiselle de Plymouth). Say that a blunt old captain, a man not of words but of action ( un vieux Fanfan la Tulipe ), offers his hand and his heart, the hand and heart of a soldier. Not in these words, you know, but this, in short, is my meaning.

"I am a maker of war ( je suis un fabricant de la guerre ) and not a maker of phrases. You, bred as a scholar ( vous, qui t'es pain comme un étudiant ), can say it in elegant language, such as you read in your books of the pleadings and wooings of lovers, such as you think best adapted to win the heart of the maiden."

Although Jean was fit to be tied ( convenable très emballé ), friendship prevailed over love and he went to his duty. But instead of using elegant language, he blurted out his mission. Priscilla was muted with amazement and sorrow ( rendue muette par l'étonnement et la tristesse ).

At length she exclaimed, interrupting the ominous silence: "If the great captain of Plymouth is so very eager to wed me, why does he not come himself and take the trouble to woo me?" ( Où est-il, le vieux Kilometres? Pourquoi ne vient-il pas auprès de moi pour tenter sa chance ?)

Jean said that Kilometres Deboutish was very busy and didn't have time for those things. He staggered on, telling what a wonderful husband Kilometres would make. Finally Priscilla arched her eyebrows and said in a tremulous voice, "Why don't you speak for yourself, Jean?" ( Chacun a son gout. )

And so, on the fourth Thursday in November, American families sit down at a large table brimming with tasty dishes and, for the only time during the year, eat better than the French do.

No one can deny that le Jour de Merci Donnant is a grande fête and no matter how well fed American families are, they never forget to give thanks to Kilometres Deboutish, who made this great day possible.

FWIW - I had seven ancestors on the Mayflower. As of this past Sunday we have been here 400 years. This makes us the original EuroTrash, thrown out before the rush. The one good thing about that was that land prices were really low when they got here.
