The Trump campaign on Sunday sought to distance itself from attorney Sidney Powell after she made a series of increasingly convoluted and baseless allegations of widespread nationwide election fraud.
Powell, who also represents former national security adviser Michael Flynn, had appeared with campaign lawyers at press events as recently as last week.
In a brief statement released Sunday afternoon, President Trump's lead attorney Rudy Giuliani and senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis said that Powell "is not a member of the Trump Legal Team."
"She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity," the former New York City mayor added.
Powell appeared alongside Giuliani and other members of the campaign's legal team at a number of press conferences over the past month — including one on Thursday — detailing the campaign's so far unsuccessful efforts to halt or overturn the certification of election results in several key battleground states that were called by media outlets for President-elect Joe Biden.
Trump himself also referred to Powell as a member of his legal team in tweets as recently as Nov. 14.

Here’s a way for you to understand, hopefully it makes this more simple.
Attorneys don’t just run around willy nilly spewing out legal phrases and pretending anyone and everyone is their client.
They have specific clients. Their relationship is official.
What Giuliani stated is the way it’s been all along.
Several other (albeit, MSM) articles saying she was “fired” from the team.
Trump apparently “did not like the coverage” she was getting “from Tucker Carlson and others” and she “argued with Guilianni in recent days”.
When you allege the things she’s alleged (including that Dominion flipped and dropped votes, and that the Gov and SOS of GA are crooks), you BETTER DAMN WELL have strong evidence. And it increasingly looks (based on her own words) that she does not have such evidence but instead has been “told” things.
You really can’t make this up. I’m not a lawyer, but if I were to allege something as serious as she has, I’d damn well have the rock solid evidence to prove it - or I wouldn’t say it in the first place. Looks like she for whatever reason did not do that, which is inexplicable.

Up to November 14, Trump actually INCLUDED Sidney Powell in his team on his OWN TWEET.
The fact is — SHE WAS ON THE TEAM. Otherwise, what was she doing speaking prominently after Rudy Giuliani during the press conference last week?

Attorneys always need to be clear about who they represent. And Sidney has now created her own non-profit to accept donations. All parties need to make it clear that those donations are not to Trump or the campaign. Nothing to see here even though it apparently is giving many Freepers the vapors.
But WHY even state it to begin with?
Maybe she’s going to file High Treason charges. Maybe Trump and Rudy want to back away and see what happens. lol.. She said she was going to blow up go Georgia. Ya Never know
