It is funded by the same family that funds Breitbart - the billionaire Mercers. Advertising will follow, as it did with Breitbart. Given that unique phone numbers are required, they have a treasure trove of data to sell to advertisers.

I’ve started to see some “sponsored” posts and they have a couple of other ideas to monetize. They haven’t been trying to monetize yet because there’s not been enough of an audience. They’re building up their popularity & membership first which is kinda the way it has to be done. I’m sure FR didn’t have an $88.000.00 quarterly goal the first year. Did they ask for money at all right off the bat? I haven’t been around since day one but if I had to guess, I’d bet there was no talk of money for a while.
