WEST MICHIGAN. — According to an associate dean at WMU Cooley, it is completely possible that we could see another statewide lockdown in some form if positive COVID cases continue to increase.
Back in October the Michigan Supreme Court struck down Governor Gretchen Whitmer's emergency powers.
"We had the Supreme Court... strike down the powers of the Governor under the Emergency Powers of the Governor Act from 1945," said Michael McDaniel, Associate Dean at WMU Cooley.
Since then, further health orders have been issued by the state department of health and human services (MDHHS).
“Right now we've got a statewide public health order that was issued... a couple of weeks ago," McDaniel told FOX 17 Friday morning.
"And that's the one that sort of changed the restrictions for retail establishments.”
On Thursday Governor Whitmer held a press conference updating the state's current numbers, but not directly addressing whether or not she would consider another state lockdown.
“Ultimately, the most important thing that the public needs to know is that this remains a very real and present threat to every single one of us. We need people to individually do their part,” the Governor said Thursday afternoon.
“These numbers continue on the trajectory we're on, we will be having to take additional steps, there's no question.”

90 percent of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 have such insignificant amounts of the virus present in their bodies that such individuals do not need to isolate nor are they candidates for contact tracing.
overtesting is responsible for misdiagnosing a huge number of people with harmless amounts of the virus in their systems.
Most of these people are not likely to be contagious…

And....I heard Cuomo is mainly upset Trump will get proper and honest credit for getting the vaccine rushed to plass testing and go into production as he promised.
And Biden wants to distribute the vaccine first "globally" to those in other countries and then to Americans (if any left). Trump's was America First. Not Biden's style.
I do know cases have showed up in my area where there were none in the spring. People are not nearly as ill as we were hearing back then.
Some schools are going back to virtual classes because they are such small schools that with all the contact quarantining there are not enough people to have onsite classes. There are not that many people actually ill.
Churches are cutting back to one meeting again.

A lot of people have gotten flu shots in the past 6 weeks. And a lot of those people are being tested now.
And what does the test look for?
Trump should have done a reset earlier this year, but he decided to do nothing.
