Sleeper race could wake up Michigan and shock the nation
Washington Examiner ^ | October 31, 2020 06:30 AM | Salena Zito, National Political Reporter

Posted on 11/01/2020 6:57:56 AM PST by Hojczyk

Peters' Republican challenger, John James, has emerged as just the kind of candidate Michigan voters may want to put the brakes on a Democratic Party on the precipice of full power. It's a scenario similar to the way voters put the brakes on down-ballot Democrats in the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections.

Some white, upper-middle-class voters who live in the suburbs are less forthcoming. They don’t want their neighbors to know they are voting for Trump because they fear being shunned socially as well as economically.

Place a Trump yard sign along your porch, and there go the invitations to the block parties and the networking events that help grow businesses, and here comes the isolation while standing at the sidelines of your kid’s soccer games.

Tell a reporter your name in a story, and that could affect your small business or your employer or your kids or your wife. The anti-Trump troll farms spend their days scouring social media looking for someone to shame, someone to make a fool of, someone to destroy, all because these voters are not falling in line with their political religion.

Outside of this state, some professional prognosticators call this the sleeper race of 2020, the one that might keep the Republicans in the majority — but most pundits are forecasting a Democratic wave that will sweep the president and the GOP Senate out of power in January in historic numbers.

Maybe. Maybe not. Spend some time in the state listening to voters, and you may think it is closer to a sleeper outcome than we think.

There’s probably 200k secret Trump voters in Michigan, who would never say a word to their neighbors or friends. It was that crowd who came out in 2016, and will repeat their performance in 2020.

Most of Michigan is red outside Detroit and Flint. Both those areas have had decreasing population for years. So there’s that.

Probably 200K secret sleeper Trump voters in Michigan....
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Near me in Southeast Michigan, maybe close to that number.
A little farther from here the Trump lovers are far more numerous, I believe.

I just hope enough will overcome the yuge number of socialist indoctrinated younger voters who “want to give socialism a try like they did in those Scandinavian places.” Which means they know nothing of the actual governments there and might think Venezuela and Cuba are bordering them up there. The most ignorant generation so far.

Go Trump.

Joe Biden Tells Voters in Michigan: “I Don’t Need You to Get Me Elected” (Video)

Gateway Pundit ^ | October 31, 2020 | Jim Hoft
Posted on 11/1/2020, 7:02:22 AM by White Lives Matter

Joe Biden made three(?) stops in Michigan today with Barack Obama.

At one rally Joe left Barack hanging on the stage – It wasn’t clear if he was going to come out!

Then, later today, Joe told voters in Michigan, “I don’t need you to get me elected!”

Chalk up Michigan for POTUS. I was at the rally in Waterford, Mich on Friday. I have never seen anything like it in my old life. It brought a tear to my eye and put a lump in my throat. Combine that with the “My Governor is an IDIOT” signs sprinkled everywhere...and...there you have it.

Chalk up Michigan for POTUS.

Ready - Aim - Vote

I don’t know that this is a sleeper race, given the many millions of dollars being put into the race on both sides.

The fact that the DNC had to send their campaign to Detroit and Flint recently to try to get the blacks back on the plantation, tells you all you need to know about how the ENTIRE election is going for the demorats.

In 2016, Trump voters were called "Delporables" by the elites.

In 2020, Trump is called a racist and nazi 24/7, with the implication being that anyone who votes for him is also a racist/nazi.

Whatever the number of silent Trump voters there were in 2016, you can easily triple that in 2020.

‘The anti-Trump troll farms spend their days scouring social media looking for someone to shame, someone to make a fool of, someone to destroy, all because these voters are not falling in line with their political religion’

So true. I went on a website called Nextdoor the other day. I checked my area. A person wrote their Trump sign had been stolen. She had just two posts sympathizing with her before the liberal trolls came out and began with their usual tirade. It was sickening.

Please Michigan, vote John James in!

As a lifelong Michigander, I found this article very interesting. The Trump endorsement from the Flint City Council member was very bold, maybe courageous and I hope it sways other Flint residents.

I was on the ground, in Flint, during the water crisis. I made many home visits to residents there. The city is in far worse shape than I could have imagined. I was shocked and saddened by the conditions residents were living in - especially the poor elderly. Democrat rule is what led to these conditions.

I think Trump could get the suburban mom vote, too, IF he toned down his rhetoric and acted more presidential. Truly, that is all some of these women are looking for. They aren’t reading policy positions or overly concerned about peace in the Middle East.

The article doesn’t mention the Gretchen Whitmer factor. She is disliked my many people, and not all of them are Republicans.

Sadly, there is more truth in that statement than you can imagine. My wife and I are both staunch Trump supporters and we have been "shadow-banned" to an extent in our CT community as a result. On the positive side, we are developing close friendships with others like-minded.

You definitely learn who your real friends are in this politically charged environment and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Anybody who would shun us over who we support politically was never a friend in the first place.

I think anything outside of the Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint, etc. viewing areas for local TV news stations such as WXYZ CH7 Action News (Detroit) will tend to vote for Trump, and even those within localized media’s reach are beginning to see though the facade.
