Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) spoke to Hispanic Americans at a campaign stop in McAllen, Texas, on Friday, telling them that she and former Vice President Joe Biden’s “first order of business” is to get rid of President Trump’s tax cuts.
“I promise you this — as a first order of business, Joe Biden and I are about to work to get rid of that tax cut,” she said to cheers.

Great thinking Kamala! After all, none of our citizens with Central American, Cuban or Puerto Rican heritage work or pay taxes. None of them have their own businesses which would benefit from being able to reinvest some of their earnings.

This American family was crushed by the “tax cut”; removing personal exemptions did no favors to many families. I suspect the people who benefited the most from the tax cut were childless workers who rented; they had less means to reduce their taxable income vefore, and had their standard deduction doubled.

High tax State with big mortgage interest?
No, the doubled standard deduction made itemizing useless (so that part was fine); my taxes are under $10,000 and I don’t have a large mortgage or high rate (though many in NJ/NY fit what you describe). By removing the exemptions for dependents, it basically increased my taxable income by $20,000+.
If you look up who was hurt by this tax cut (on any site you prefer), you’ll see that many families with children were.
It's bizarre. The old adage was, run to the left to secure the nomination, then run to the center to win.
They've changed it: Run to the left to secure the nomination, run to BUCK CRAZY to win.
Maybe they think they have the fraud in the bag? Sounds like a winning strategy to me.
In his usual stock speech yesterday (watched the whole thing) Biden said people like Trump look down on him because his (Biden's) house isn't as nice. Other class warfare stuff too. Then he said "I give you my word as a Biden, if you make less than $400,000 you’re not going to see a penny of your taxes go up, not a penny"
Like many of his other lies he leaves stuff out. He is not mentioning the other taxes that will go up like self employment tax. He's promised that. He doesn't care that many small businesses aren't able to pull off his tax trick he used to shelter his book and speech income and turn it into non-income.
A guy I know, not a friend, but I talk to, a reasonable union guy, tried to convince me a few weeks ago that Biden was not a socialist. There was desperation in his voice. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say at first. I pointed out the Biden New Green Deal would raise costs for everyone, that he chose a leftist running mate, that he's not really in charge of things.
Biden yelling angrily for unity at a mostly black gathering is not fooling anyone, not even those people who are also just using him. But the medis is doing their best to keep Biden out of the cameras.
