Statistics released by the United States Department of Labor for the third quarter of 2020 showed that median weekly earnings of Asian women surpassed the earnings of white men.
“Earnings for Asian women surpassed white male earnings for the first time this year!” American Enterprise Institute resident scholar Christina Hoff Sommers tweeted along with the newly released data. “Asian privilege? Female privilege? Narrative-destabilizing development. #EqualPay”
Asian women earned a $1,224 median usual weekly earnings in the third quarter compared to $1,222 earned by their male counterparts during the same time period.
Sommers’s tweet was liked and shared over a thousand times with several people questioning media narratives regarding “privilege” in society.
“Some serious Asian female privilege here,” New York Post writer Rav Arora tweeted.“Wonder what intersectionality has to say for this outcome, since Asian women are doubly 'oppressed' bc of both gender and race.”
“Tiger mum privilege,” columnist Rita Panahi tweeted.
Attorney and Republican committeewoman Harmeet K. Dhillon cautioned that the news was not the “good news you think it is.”
“This is not the good news you think it is, folks,” Dhillon tweeted. “This data will be used to marginalize Asian women at companies that increasingly reserve certain jobs/promotions for 'URM's, 'under-represented minorities.' This phenomenon already has downgraded the workplace status of Asian men.”
Sommers has written extensively about wage gaps and the narratives surrounding them and has pushed back against those who argue women get paid less for the same work as men.
“No matter how many times this wage gap claim is decisively refuted by economists, it always comes back,” Sommers wrote in Time in 2016. “The bottom line: the 23-cent gender pay gap is simply the difference between the average earnings of all men and women working full-time. It does not account for differences in occupations, positions, education, job tenure or hours worked per week. When such relevant factors are considered, the wage gap narrows to the point of vanishing.”

A co-worker of mine back in Georgia complained that a Korean church went up across the street from his house in Opelika, AL. His wife’s car was parked 40 feet up their driveway and a Korean woman still managed to plough into her car.
Also the wages of white men have been severely depressed by racial quotas under so-called “affirmative action” which has devolved from a ‘hand up’ for minorities into a ‘beat down’ on white men.
In 2014 went unemployed for 6 months until I put ‘hispanic’ on my applications and I got an offer in 2 weeks. Only a fool plays a rigged game by the rules.
I only date Asian women now because they usually come from good households, they still believe men are men and want men to be men. Evey single one either had an advanced Math degree, doctorate of medicine, accounting degree or engineering degree, (STEM) they go for careers that pay serious money.
I never met one with a liberal arts degree or education degree. Those are the careers that pay the least (of college education careers). I am sure they do exist, but that is rare.
LOL, I like to shop at the H Mart here in the DFW area to get my Kimchi, and they always warned me about driving in the parking lots there.
When the US had a smaller population, life was pretty good for workers. A one income family could live a decent life, and there was a balance between work and family and leisure time.
China and India have been densely populated for a long time; they have produced societies that are more desperate, dog eat dog, nose to the grindstone, work long hours. The consequences of being on the lower rungs are grim.
People with that kind of work ethic will rise to the top in any society, but the immigrants will change the society that receives them.

Well my neighborhood here in suburban DFW is mostly Indian, and it’s a fairly well-to-do neighborhood.
There are a lot Asian female types in the universities studying hard subjects like biology, chemistry, math etc. Graduates with degrees in those subjects make a lot of money. Biotech firms hire young people with advanced science degrees. Their starting salaries are north of $190,000 a year.

My Taiwanese husband once told me that Asian privilege is having the same (or greater) wealth and education levels as white people without being held to the same standards of political correctness.
