It is pretty stunning that Trump can (and has) order the release of these documents and declassify them and they still manage to drag it out over years.
It is very clear that the “government” opposes Trump.
Part of this is Trump’s fault too. I think he naively believed that his appointees would do the right thing. They have not. His cabinet leaders have been largely ineffective at cracking the bureaucracy as well.
Pompeo said on his NewsMax interview two days ago that there is still resistance within the organization.
So what has Pompeo done about the resistance? He may not be able to fire people due to union contracts, civil service rules, etc., but he can certainly give them seats in a warehouse somewhere and give them zero work. Bore them to death. It's old school Japanese management.
