Almost All of America’s Failed Cities are Democrat Cities
Frontpage ^ | September 3,2020 | John Perazzo

Posted on 09/03/2020 9:09:10 AM PDT by Hojczyk

The facts are crystal clear, and they are stunning. For decade upon decade, the Democratic Party has fed mountains of rhetoric to its many reliable voting blocs in scores of U.S. cities, assuring them of its deep and abiding concern for the lives of ordinary Americans.

Yet it has delivered absolutely nothing in terms of measurable improvements to those lives. Instead, the Party has gradually transformed itself into a political wrecking ball whose only tangible achievement in urban America has been to perpetuate obscene levels of poverty, crime, and human misery. It is a shocking record of wretched failure that can be neither ignored nor wished away.

Why on earth would anyone believe that entrusting Democrats with the reins of governmental power on a national level, as opposed to a city level, would lead to a better result?

It is time for serious-minded individuals who may have long supported the Democratic Party for reasons they deemed worthy and honorable, to finally recognize that their party has failed and betrayed them so consistently and so monstrously, that they now have a moral imperative to walk away from it.

The question is are they failed because they are run by democrats or are they failed because so many democrats live there. It is kind of like a chicken and egg question.

The following chart shows the 50 cities that have the highest violent crime rates in the United States and: (a) have a population of 25,000 or more; (b) are governed by mayors who are clearly identifiable as either Democrats or Republicans;[5] and (c) have either a “Mayor-Council” (MC) form of government, a “Council-Manager” (CM) form of government, or a Hybrid (HYB) of the two. Of those 50 cities, 46 are governed by Democratic mayors and administrations; only 4 are governed by Republicans. Moreover, 42 of the top 43 are governed by Democrats.

Now let us turn our attention to the political leadership of the large U.S. cities with the highest poverty rates in the nation. These are cities that: (a) have populations of at least 200,000; (b) are governed by mayors who are clearly identifiable as either Democrats or Republicans; and (c) have either a “Mayor-Council” (MC) form of government, a “Council-Manager” (CM) form of government, or a Hybrid (HYB) of the two.[10] Of the 50 cities in this list, 41 have Democratic mayors, and just 9 have Republican mayors.

And, what is the definition of FAILING when it pertains to a city?

FYI

Their cities fail because the officials utilize all taxpayer revenues for themselves and/or/also leverage other Dems for favored status on their pet projects....those projects are always philosophical and or social driven for re-election in in and out of terms one way or another. Parks get built in districts where someone gave a lot....City streets stay bad where the money doesn't flow frm....etc.

“I heard somebody on TV say that Oklahoma City has a higher crime rate than Portland.”

___________

Maybe it’s because OKC actually reports property crimes, while Portland treats them as “free expression.”

Soon white liberal 'elites' will grow tired of black thugs and they'll drop BLM just like they dropped 'the homeless' years ago... like they dropped the 'milk carton' kids years before that...

White brats (antifa) of white 'elites' will go home to mommy and daddy in their elite mansions and get good paying jobs... get married and blend in...

And the black community? They'll carry the shame of burning cities for decades and when the rest of us (all other ethnic groups) look down on the black community for the destruction of our cities, white elites will NOT be there to help them.

Elites will dump them soon, just like they dumped the homeless, Hispanics, homeless, women who own beauty shops....the elites will have moved on to the next fashionable group of gullible fools.

I wonder how many of those cities marked “Republican” were actually dominated by Democrat rule, and the Republican there now is trying to clean up the mess?

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Basically already happened back in the 60s

When the ‘rich White boys’ didn’t want to go to Vietnam they started demonstrating, recruiting ‘young girls’ and Blacks. The campus riots etal were going strong until Kent State and some of the ‘protestors’ figured out that someone could get ‘hurt’ playing this game.
Then the DRAFT got rescinded and MOST of the ‘RWBs’ went home and on with their life, leaving the young girls and Blacks open and exposed and - IMNSHO - now LEO weren’t ‘afraid’ to put down the protestors and rioters. Naturally there were some ‘hard core’ revolutionaries that stayed with the movement.

I liken the situation to the waning days of ‘KKK’ when hard line confrontations were rare because MOST LEO agencies had infiltrated the K and kind of kept the mayhem down...

This list is a little inaccurate. While Fresno, CA is the first "Republican" city in the list, I looked up the city councilmembers. They are officially nonpartisan elections, but looking at past other races, affiliations, or such, I can pretty definitively say that 5/7 of Fresno city council are Democrats. Of the other two, Bredefeld sounds like he would be Pubbie, and Esparza sounds like a Dem.

So, one of your high-poverty cities that's supposedly Republican, is actually 6/8 Democrat once you add in the seven members of the city council!

I actually looked up Fresno since it was the first Pubbie city on the poverty list. Lo and behold, if you add in the seven city councilmen, the "Repub" city turns into 6/8 Democrat!

Yes, the crime rate in San Francisco is “low,” too, because no one reports property crimes hardly. There is no point. Thefts under 950 are a misdemeanor. Etc.

That said our violent crime rate is pretty low I think. Grateful for that.
