Retail giant Amazon has removed a book outlining the medical and psychological dangers associated with same-sex sexual acts from its website. Some say it is further evidence of a larger censorship trend.
The book, Health Hazards of Homosexuality: What the Medical and Psychological Research Reveals, a 600-page book assembled by activist organization Mass Resistance, had been allowed to be sold on the platform for approximately three and a half years with no issue until recently when the online retailer notified the group that it would no longer be allowed to be sold or printed on its site. The company also reportedly blocked Mass Resistance from accessing its account records.
The book compiles data taken from major medical professional groups, the Centers for Disease Control, and other sources, including LGBT medical and advocacy organizations, and makes the case that the normalization of specific sexual activities has come at great cost to society and the acts are proven to be harmful to the human body and psyche.
"On July 17, we were notified that they have determined that the book violates their 'content guidelines' and they have thus taken it down completely. They closed our account and will not allow us to open another account," Mass Resistance explained in a Saturday blog post.
The group reportedly inquired how it had specifically violated Amazon's content guidelines since it was a compilation of medical information from mainstream sources. The retail giant said in reply that the book contains "content that is considered offensive" and did not offer any further explanation as to why it was removed.
Mass Resistance went on to note that the retailer has a near-total monopoly on book-selling online yet seems to have no issue with other books sold on the site, which include pornographic titles that involve sexual violence and accessories like sex toys and compression binders for young women who identify as the opposite sex.
The book is among the latest titles from a particular perspective that Amazon has disallowed from being sold on its platform.
In August of last year, at the apparent behest of a gay activist, Amazon discontinued selling the books of a few authors who once identified as gay or lesbian and told their stories of leaving that life in exchange for following Christ.
Among the titles that were removed was Joe Dallas' "Desires in Conflict", Anne Paulk's "Restoring Sexual Identity", and Catholic attorney David A. Robinson's "Orientation and Choice: One Man's Sexual Journey."
As recently happened with the Mass Resistance compilation book, when Robinson asked Amazon why his book was taken down, a company representative informed him it was in "violation of our content guidelines" but did not specifically explain what warranted the removal.
Earlier this summer, journalist Abigail Shrier's publisher, Regnery Publishing, was disallowed by Amazon from purchasing ads to promote her book "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters", an investigative work that scrutinizes the steep rise in young women and teenaged girls who now identify as transgender, many of whom have taken testosterone and undergone radical surgeries in order to appear more male.
But of course.
Amazon needs to censor literature which is at odds with the liberal views of any subject. In this case, we need to censor a book which is not praising homosexuality.
Hate or offensive speech = any speech the marxists don’t like

And at the same time, I wish people would share their sources on how Coronavirus is just so I could be on the same page and read the infornation for myself.
Just wondering, the other day there was a post on something very similar, which had seemed to have resulted from a failure by (someone) to correctly cover something about the rights.

Hope conservatives can find a way to circumvent Amazon. It’ll take time, but the effort must begin.
I’ve never met a happy homosexual. If they aren’t suffering from disease or violence (from other gays), they are suffering from various psychological issues such as addiction or depression.

For a guy, at the least, being gay is simply the MOST DANGEROUS lifestyle choice they can make, other than getting on Meth or Heroin, maybe.
All that needs to done is for parents to communicate that fact. But they don’t. Why? Because of censorship, EXACTLY like this - the parents don’t know better, and so their kids are left to try to figure things out, which should never be the case, and often ends poorly.
The Family Research Council has some very detailed information on things like overall health, diseases, suicide rates, homicide rates, etc. associated with that lifestyle.
While everything there is what we instinctively believe (no surprises), what really struck me in reading their work was how they mentioned that virtually no research has been done since the mid-1970s, right after they got being gay ‘normalized’ by the shrink industry. It all just STOPPED!
An FYI- in my worklife, I microscopically looked at many, many anal specimens looking for HPV and damaged cells.
The anus was not designed to accept an erection.
