Depending on China for anything that matters is a problem that needs to be fixed immediately.
The only good thing that came out of the Wuhan pandemic was an awareness of how dependent Obama, Biden and Hillary had made us on China.
Trade is good - but not when people you're trading with attempt to corner markets and refuse medicine IF you don't don't jump high enough...
Some years ago a white liberal elite friend explained some higher ups were discussing doing to white working people what they had done to blacks... just pay us off to sit home and do nothing. This person felt China was a better 'factory & labor force' than Americans. Other than that it would destroy most of the dignity of American citizens - it also sets Chinese workers up to be permanent slaves of the state.
Chinese workers work 12 hour shifts - 6 days a week. They work in unprotected shops often doing dangerous jobs machines could do better.
China needs to get their act together... and so do we. Maybe in time there can be casual happy trade between out countries... It'll be a while before trust comes back...
