As Fauci battles the pandemic and politics, his grateful neighbors celebrate him as a hero

After each long day of working on the United States’ pandemic response, the nation’s top infectious-disease expert power-walks through his Northwest Washington neighborhood with his wife and their daughter’s dog.

Recently, Anthony S. Fauci’s nightly jaunts through the neighborhood where he has lived since 1977 have taken him past at least a dozen signs bearing his name — tokens of appreciation for his staid service on the White House coronavirus task force.

“I have been, for so long, a quiet, inconspicuous person in my neighborhood, and now there are signs up telling me that they love me,” Fauci marveled on Monday. “I think it’s great, but I certainly don’t let anything like that go to my head.”

BARF, the woman on the lawn must be on the government payroll like the rest of the neighborhood.

How does being wrong on everything make one a hero?

“Saint Fauci” is such a silly meme.
But the media is all-in on it.

I’ve lived in Washington DC. The uniformity of thought and group-think is off-the-charts.

Knew it would be NYT or WaPo.

So I didn’t have to read it after all.

Dr. Tony advertising to the world where he lives.

As I was saying yesterday he is actively encouraging kookburgers to make death threats against he and his family.

Thank you for that comment. I have family in the D.C. area so I am there fairly often. I can't convey to people who have never been there how that town lives in it's own little bubble which is absolutely unlike anything the rest of us experience in Pittsburgh or Texas or Des Moines. It is palpable to me on the drive home when I get to around Hagerstown and realize that I'm back in the real world.

Man, that a lot of white privilege on display right there.

Fauci is the reason things NEVER get done in the world.
He is stuck in this rigid type of thinking that there is no alternatives to what he understands.

It probably never enters his mind to step outside of the box and look at things from a different angle.
Rigid and inflexible with pre determined outcome expectations.

When the outcomes dont meet his expectations, he just doubles down and says that the data is flawed and we have to start from scratch.

I am very conscious of this. I can feel my unconscious evolutionary primate instinct to conform to pack/tribe social-group norms rising when I am there.

For one thing you can literally feel the money bubbling up at you through cracks in the sidewalks. There is no such thing as a closed and boarded-up business there. And you know that almost no one in that town does anything productive, they just stole it all from us. It makes your blood boil.

if FauXi goes to most American neighborhoods
he will be tarred and feathered with dripping masks
of viruses that HE PAID TO BE MADE in China
after he/CDC killed the CEOs who made HCQ.

You are right. The day he steps outside that Beltway and gets a load of what people in the real world think of him he’s in for a shock. It ain’t gonna be pretty, that’s for sure.

His attention whoring is absolutely pathological.

Nobody knew who his daughters were, or cared. But then he gave an interview where he revealed their names, photos, where they lived and worked to the world. Apparently just so he could inspire a few kookburgers to threaten him in order to buy his next fifteen minutes of fame.

That move is sick, sick, sick!

It was before my time, but I believe the last “recession” Washington DC faced was the 1968 riots. Dupont Circle was just becoming gentrified in the 70s, and even in the early-mid 80s, Chinatown on H street had decrepit, derelict buildings.

Fed.gov then discovered massive debt and asset bubbles, supported by printed, fiat money and manipulated interest rates, courtesy of the Federal Reserve. And ALL that money, in some form, passed through gatekeepers in Washington DC. It is truly the center of the empire.

Back then I had the opportunity to join the firm of a (small) local real-estate developer, who later became quite huge taking advantage of this never-ending flow of money through DC. Biggest career mistake ever!
