It wasn’t a politically correct thing to say, but, he’s right about the Latino community being (much) more diverse.
Latino or Hispanic, is not about a single race, and Latino/Hispanic can be all races: white, black, Asian, whatever.
And, Latino/Hispanic can be of any cultural background. One can say that, Latinos/Hispanics, have every race and every religion and every ethnicity and every culture covered.
How is that different from so-called Black people?
They can be of every cultural background, too. Most Black Americans are mixed-race in one way or another; and have backgrounds in all religions, and even carry on the customs of many different ‘ethnicities’, including a lot of European ones.
What he said was a slam against Black Americans and their *thought*. He was making the typical liberal assumption that all Black people are of one mind about everything; in other words - he was TAKING THEM FOR GRANTED.
There's no avoiding the racist predicate in his statement.
