Vindman tweets on anniversary of Trump's call with Zelensky that led to impeachment

Alexander Vindman on Saturday tweeted that he's certain he "did (his) duty" as a key witness in President Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry.

"One year since The Call. Much has changed for me and so much more has changed for our country. I rest well knowing I did my duty," Vindman, former top Ukraine expert at the National Security Council, wrote.

Groundwork for the impeachment began when Democrats announced an impeachment inquiry following an anonymous whistleblower complaint alleging Trump sought election help from Ukrainian President Zelensky in a phone call. The Senate ultimately voted to acquit Trump on two articles of impeachment.

Lt. Col. Vindman retired from the US Army earlier this month, after more than 21 years of military service because he determined that his future in the armed forces "will forever be limited" due to political retaliation by the President and his allies, his lawyer told CNN.

Vindman has endured a "campaign of bullying, intimidation, and retaliation" spearheaded by the President following his testimony in the impeachment inquiry last year, according to his attorney, David Pressman.

Trump fired Vindman as the top Ukraine expert on the NSC in February.

Vindman delivered explosive testimony during public impeachment hearings that Trump's push for Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden was "inappropriate" and that he knew "without hesitation" that he had to report it.

Vindman said that he reported his concerns out of a "sense of duty," and he defended his fellow witnesses from what he described as "reprehensible" attacks.

Testifying in his Army uniform as an active-duty soldie.

But Vindman remained a focal point of Trump's ire, facing a wave of unfounded attacks from the President and his allies during the trial portion.

“And yet I can’t remember what Trump was actually impeached for”.

I can. He was impeached for becoming the 45th President of the United States. That was not supposed to happen. Hellery was the chosen Liberal successor to Hussein to continue the USA on it’s inevitable march to Marxism.
Donald Trump’s election brought that plan to a screeching halt and the Liberal meltdown began. And, has gotten worse and worse every day since.

Vindman did his duty? Potentially destroying our Constitutional Republic and Separation of Powers. He was almost our Brutus, the modern day Benedict Arnold.

Honestly, if someone was really egregiously abusing power, maybe they do have a duty. But this was not that. POTUS asking another country for evidence of corruption by previous governments and office holders is 100% within the powers of the office of POTUS. We, and the POTUS and the DOJ, have a right to know if politicians are acting corruptly. Vindman did nothing more than stoke partisan division for partisan gain on non-existent pretext.

Knowing that some in the Intel Community were trying to recruit informants and spies inside the White House (see the FBI lovers’ texts and email between FBI officials about using and recruiting WH insiders) only serves to prove the point. Vindman was one of the partisan recruits, it seems.

Fellows who went thru training with Vindman said he was a lazy whiner and “food thief” — a person stole food or took more than his share of limited rations during field exercises.

He threw away his career for 10 mins of fame in a pathetic hope to overthrow the duly elected president.

His career was already likely over for his role in the fake Russia collusion. He was lying for the Democrats in order to save his ass from the investigation.

You mean Vindman was re4assigned as the US Naval attache to
Ugol’nyy on the Bering Sea.

Its a whalers paradise, which accounts for Vindman’s blubbering.

Treasonous plick!

Vindman - you’re an idiot that skated for 20 years into LTC. Congratulations. Retire and go home to Russia (or Ukraine).

“In normal times he’d face a Court Marshall for attempted overthrow of the duly elected President of the United States.”

Or even a court martial.
