Services honoring George Floyd, who died while being arrested in Minneapolis, will take place in three states over the course of six days.
A memorial service will be held in Minneapolis on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., family attorney Benjamin Crump said.
The Rev. Al Sharpton will deliver a eulogy at the memorial, which will take place at the Frank J. Lindquist Sanctuary at North Central University.
A public viewing and a private memorial service will be held in Raeford, North Carolina, on Saturday, Hubert Peterkin, the sheriff of Hoke County, said on Facebook.
The public viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters, followed by a private service for just the family at 3 p.m., Peterkin said. No protesting will be allowed.
Next Monday, a public memorial will take place from noon to 6 p.m. at The Fountain of Praise Church at 13950 Hillcroft Ave. in Houston, the Fort Bend Memorial Planning Center said in a statement.
And on Tuesday, a private service will be held at an undisclosed location, the statement said.

Nancy could invite the body to the House chamber for public viewing. Have a state funeral. She could claim it as payback for Limbaugh’s Medal of Freedom.
She could bring the ice cream from her freezer and have a social.

Reading this I am thinking about poor Janice Dean . She lost both of her in laws and could not have a service or see them before they passed. What has changed to allow this?

It is exactly what the German National Socialist Workers Party (NAZI) did for Horst Wessel. He was a two bit mean street fighter who was killed in one of those thousands of brawls that the SA had with Communists and Socialists on the streets of Berlin. He was turned into a martyr, with the Nazi Anthem being about him and becoming the second national German anthem with “Germany Above All.” We don’t need to sell these people short. They are evil and making a play for national power. Make no mistake. This is an attack upon our very existence.
So much for the fear of COVID at funerals when there’s political points to be made.
